I disagree.

Lawrence was well paid, but not at the tops.

Lawrence wasn't in a position to negotiate with other clubs, so we don't know if another team would've offered any more than Dallas.

we always have a small bargaining chip in that the great state of texas there is no personal income tax. I am confident Stephen will get it done as he did with zack and tank.

Wouldn't blame Cooper for asking to be the top of one of the top paid WR's. Our offense was crap without him and he is the only outside threat getting bracketed or double coverage. We'll just have to wait an see what the contract looks like, it just won't be cheap.

Not that this happened here but you can ask for a "shockingly high" payday without submitting a formal contract .

There is no accountability in sports journalism because fans do not demand it and will continue to support that network, publication or internet source. When the reporter had to admit and apologize for the fabricated story about Michael Sam, when he was a Ram, on ESPN and they did nothing about an out and out lie, that told us all we need to know. Lying seems to be an acceptable path in sports journalism. I did my part and have not watched that channel since that happened except for MNF and college games.

Honesty and integrity have become just words in the quest for gold.
Seems that now days it's just easier for some people to just tell a lie. Guess it makes them feel more important and the only way they will be heard.

But too many in the top 5 paid at that position and this team better be very healthy and a drafting demon because they will need the balance of first contracts to offset these others. They had that with Prescott, Elliott and Lawrence last season. I don't care what any of them make, my concern is seeing players that leave because they can't keep them but I am in the minority in my opinion about the importance of Lord Byron to this defense. I see the best DB on the team as more of a critical factor than a 13-15M RB, but that's just me.
The team can pay its foundational guys, this includes guys like BJ and J.Smith.

The guys we will lose will be the Maliek Collins and Anthony Browns of the world, solid to above average role players who the team developed out of mid to late round picks.

You’re right that this puts more strain on the team to not be too top-heavy and draft role players and depth without missing too much. But the team has shown they’ve been able to do this for the past 8 years or so, I’m willing to lean on that strength. I think this is one of the few strategies that can keep a team good for longer rather than for a year or two.

Any journalism. It's a dead industry.

Was a bit surprised when the original story came out, this sounds more true.

Not a fan nor a media type who knows a thing about about Cooper or Dak's demands. It's all speculation all the time. As someone has said many times "fake news". The team doesn't release it until the deal is done and the agents aren't talking to anyone except the FO. The FO and the agents don't negotiate in front of the media

Sports media looking for clicks and views by pressing drama and sensationalism. And how some may have used this so called "report" about Amari demanding a high contract, to trash or bash Amari's character, or be criticize Amari. Whether that may have been so Cowboys fans, Cowboys haters or Raiders fans who are invested in seeing him fail with the Cowboys so that they can say "I told you so" and convince themselves and other NFL fans that they won the trade.

The only thing I watch on that entire network all year is Monday Night Football, because there is no alternative. In fact< I have even removed their radio station from my Sirius/XM channel presets and never even listen to them.

Alas, I’m weaker than you. I’ll momentarily drive by First Take and Undisputed, just to see what nonsense they’re peddling. It’s like a bad car wreck—you know you shouldn’t look, but...

I disagree.

Lawrence was well paid, but not at the tops.

Prescott will be well paid, but not at the tops.

And I expect the same will happen for Cooper, well paid, but not at the top.

Cant pay
Dak, Coop, Zeke, Jaylon,Byron,Collins...not to mention role players
