Is it me or does he seem nervous? Anyway 2000 yards receiving for Amari would go a long way for us to reach the Superbowl for sure for sure?

Do you think the above is possible?

I never mind seeing guys put big goals in front of themselves. 2000 has never been done and I will say odds are clearly against Cooper of reaching that goal but none the less if a lofty goal as this leads to a big year by Cooper then it will only benefit him and this team.

I like the high goals. Lets do it!

It's you, PappyDog. Dak seemed as if he loves and welcomes the challenge.

Well you can't throw 30 yard passes every play. I mean Joe Montana won a hell of al to throwing them 5 yarded to some guy named Jerry.
Well, did Joe ever throw it 30 yards or more that often. No, he did not.
Oh and Joe averaged just over 200 YPG for his career.
Are you comparing Dak Prescott to Joe Montana?

Amari must be smoking something real funny if he thinks he’s going to be the first 2000 yard receiver in NFL history on an offense that’s going to continue to feed Zeke. It’s pretty obvious the season he had last year has gone to his head. Health permitting Dak will have his first 4000 yard season and I could see Amari putting up 1300 but he isn’t going to even sniff 1800 much less 2000 yards. Amari Is an excellent receiver but 2000 receiving yards isn’t happening especially in this offense with a QB who doesn’t put up huge numbers.

Amari would have to average around 120 yards a game to reach 2000. That’s not going to happen! The other receivers would have to do practically nothing for him to accumulate 2000 yards receiving. Gallup would obviously not be developing if Amari was accounting for 100+ yards every week. I would rather see Amari put up 1300 and Gallup contribute to another 800. To have a dynamic offense you need a number of players contributing. You have to spread the ball around you can’t just focus on one receiver every week. All the receivers need to do their part.

Forgot to mention how much the Cowboys use Zeke as a receiver. That’s not going to change. He set a Cowboys RB record last season with 77 receptions. With Cobb, Gallup and Witten along with Zeke being a big part of our passing game there’s not enough balls to go around for any receiver to put up 2000 yards.

Amari reaching 2000 yards won't help this team get to a Super Bowl.

Detroit went 4-12 despite an NFL record 1964 yards by Calvin Johnson. A 2000 yard receiver isn’t any more likely to get a team to the Super Bowl than a 2000 yard rusher. You can’t depend on a player that much and be a great team. If one player is having to account for that many yards then the other players aren’t getting it done.

I don't think that at all. I think he realizes how much opportunity is in front of him when you have a good line and rb like we do. It came easy to him. If our oline returns to form and we feed Zeke and catch defenses with playaction a couple times per game he could easily get 120 per game. It's definitely a lofty goal but I like it!

I’ll wager with anyone he doesn’t average 120 per game in this offense. With the receivers and RB we have he’s not going to have the opportunity to put up those kind of numbers. It’s simply not going to happen. No receiver in history has ever averaged 120 per game for an entire NFL season.

Like I said, it's lofty. If we didn't have so much depth at wr and te positions leaving him the primary receiving threat I'd gamble but Dak will spread the ball around and not just focus on Amari as he should.

It’s so lofty it’s ridiculous. He’s not going to even sniff 2000 yards. I wouldn’t gamble on any receiver getting 2000 yards unless they were playing in KC with Pat Mahomes.

No way. Just making a comment on stats.
People want to put down Dak for not throwing long when there were many QB's that threw short passes for long TD's or gains.
Montana was on of them.

I would like longer throws from Dak, yes, but let's see how Moore calls these as opposed to Linehan. May not see that many more, but I will wait and see.
The thing about throwing long passes more is the WR has get open and / or have the ability to go get the ball.

Dez lost that in 2017, and now the have Cooper and Cobb and Gallup is emerging.

No it's not, Gallup getting big numbers takes away from Cooper. There are only so many receiving yards to be had out there. Gallup needs to be a threat but if Cooper is to have 125 yards per game, Gallup can't be getting big numbers.
I disagree
If the rest of the receivers are not effective then cooper will be doubled all day
Gallup getting 3-4 deep targets and hitting on them forces a safety over him. Moving the chains with the other guys opens up more passes to cooper because it gets you more plays
It also should help Zeke and the more effective Zeke is the better things are for cooper
Pressuring a defense from every direction stops them from scheming to stop a single guy
