Or, I could hang out in a Sportsbook with all the games playing, make a few small bets and have the cocktail waitress bring me free drinks all day.

I could see it for some, if it was a Movie Tavern and they served beer and food. Still 10X cheaper than actually going to the game live.

My problem is if it is a close game I don't like any distractions. I want to watch the game and not be distracted.

The second Superbowl against Buffalo my fiancé threw a Superbowl party of about 15 people. There was a couple there rooting for Buffalo and would scream everytime Buffalo just picked up a 3 yard gain. I ended up in a back bedroom watching it on a 15 inch tube television with a six pack of beer by myself.

I think is a risky but good idea. AMC needs to do what they can to make profits. That should be the goal of the business. Otherwise, they will be nothing more than the Blockbusters and Tower Records of the world.

I live in the DC area and AMC had this since 2019, I think. It's never been a good game from what I've seen. Definitely never a Cowboys game.

Man…I love investing in amc, but I don’t think I’d watch a football game there. They do fights every once in a while, I thought of going just to see if I like it

This is how far down movie-going has gone -- theaters are closing across the country and this is an attempt to utilize these large theater spaces for gatherings rather than movies.

In a suburb of Dallas there was a five screen theater that showed Cowboy games on one of the screens for free. No cover charge. They sold food and cocktails, beer and wine. I went to one game. It was pretty OK. The theater decided to start showing films from Bollywood not long after and the Cowboy Game experiment ended.

I like watching at my home, but this was noa bad experience at all.

Sounds like how they used to show Ali fights back in the 70's at the theatre on closed circuit TV. Of course there was no internet and only three TV channels, and you watched your teams highlights at halftime of Monday night football.

I can stream and watch any game I want for free on the internet using a burner computer. I wouldn't want go. I don't know how this would be any better than going to a sports bar or restaurant and watching. I am guessing they would need two screens or a split screen, one for redzone and one for the Cowboy game. Other than that, no one is going.

I give them points for trying to come up with something. The movie theaters have taken a beating financially and are desperate.
Bigger is better

"At 40 theaters across 25 markets, AMC will show one NFL game in each market that isn't available on local TV. The games will be free for fans to watch, but there's a catch -- you must join AMC Stubs, its membership service, and buy a $10 food and beverage gift card. The company is starting small with the initial rollout and could potentially expand it to more theaters if it likes the results."

Doesn't say when this would start but would you go?
Great idea

they would need more than one game, and would really need the local teams game too.
That wont happen as it would violate current tv contracts.
When nfl games are on tv, you cant even watch games on nfl game pass, which nfl owns.
Tv networks dont want people watching anywhere but on their tv channels.

It’s a great idea, but I don’t comport to socially acceptable public standards during football games. I guess I’m disqualified.

To watch "a game that isn't available on local TV?"
So not the Cowboys? Or anybody's home/local team?
Instead I go to a theater to overpay for refreshments to watch Jets-Jacksonville.
And at the same time that the Cowboys play?

Nah. I'm good staying home.
It would be nice if they served beer, pizza, and wings too...
