ummm, I dont know if the first article is aware of this, but we all came from other countries first.

Second, oooooo bad America, cant run like everyone else. Darn, maybe we should all just get out of our homes and go for runs because we just want to beat everybody at everything. Boo hoo for us. Some people train hard, and work hard and live the life harder because they want something, America, go crush those dreams.

If the guy ran for America and became a citizen of America and stands for what America stands for, than to heck with the first article, an American won and we should only be so proud.

He's more of an American than some of our politicians. He chose to be a citizen. Most of us were born here. That makes him someone who is willing to leave his country of birth to come to the greatest country in the world. I say to heck with the guy who wrote the first article. He's a knucklehead.

Yes, but I've been here longer! Dad's side since the 1650s and mom's side since 1709. :p: We didn't need no stinking Ellis Island! :laugh2:

Personally, I find both articles despicable. If the man wants to be an American and he qualifies and officially becomes an American, then that is what he is PERIOD!

Maybe those writers aren't *really* professionals, because at one time they were amateur so I can't give them full credit for being professionals. ....or adults for that matter even if at 18 they officially became adults. I mean Meb Keflezigh became an *official* American in 1998, but *not really*.

great post and I agree with you. actually since your family came before Ellis Island, the whole family has to go back thru it. New law, really.
