Perhaps I wasn't clear. I was describing neighborhoods far from the strip...where people should have normal grocery stores. The Walmarts were closed up and shuttered, as well as most all the grocery stores. All because of despair/poverty/vice driven crime.Get off the strip and into the neighborhoods. Life is no different for people. Just like your neighborhood and mine. Grocery stores, car washes, convenient stores, car dealerships.....
You know, the kind of things you won't find on the strip.
Obviously this doesn't describe all of Las Vegas, but it describes a lot of it.
