An aggressive play by Carr

Just compare his technique in that video to what we see from him (and most of our CB's) on Sundays. I feel like I harp on this at least once every 2 weeks, you can't make plays on the ball if you don't even see the ball coming. Carr is constantly in the trail position and that's why he is always getting lit up. Granted he may not be giving up the "big yardage" plays, but 9 times out of 10 a pass is completed to a wide open receiver..it's Carr's guy.

What happened to this guy?

That had to be 2012 with Rob Ryan as the DC.

The issue is that one play does not tell the story. Players might have been more aggressive in that scheme but the 1 play does not show the vast number of plays that they gave up because they took excessive risks both as individual players and schematically.

I heard a lot of bad stuff about Carr, Broaddus was killing the guy for a week straight - to the point of basically calling him soft. I actually think he's learned to just not be the guy giving up the big play, which is basically how Scandrick makes his living.

If we had better safety play, maybe our corners would feel safer taking risks.

Meh Broaddus has very little to no credibility anymore.

Carr is what he is. He shouldn't be starting, but at least he's not giving up a lot of big plays.

Bigger issue is safety play. To me missed tackles at the line of scrimmage, in space, not carrying guys last week like with Church, late on their double teams.

That better be addressed in the draft.

50 million dollar contract and hasn't turned in an interception since Thanksgiving Day 2013, he's a thief

Truly embarrassing he hasn't had an INT since then. And it's not like he's never targeted either.

Some serious consideration needs to be taken about benching him here shortly. I'm just not seeing any positives from him.

The positive is we don't have anyone better to take his spot.

I didn't realize it was that bad. I wonder if his mom's passing is affecting him. His body language reminds me of Newman in his last 3 years....just going thru the motions.

In the Giants game, 1st quarter, Beckaham caught a ball on him and got up in Carr's grill and chewed him out like he was a child. Carr just walked away, no response/no fire. Something is wrong with him.

So who's more credible than a former scout? Broaddus doesn't say he knows everything, he just gives his opinion, and I've found him to be accurate more often than not (read up on players like McFadden, Corey White, Cassels, etc etc). He admit he makes mistakes, but he researches far more than your average editor

Wouldn't be surprised to see 2 DB's taken in the draft and another taken in FA. If we re-sign Hardy, we need to overhaul our secondary in the worst way.

Scouts that are better than Broaddus? Broaddus was a failure as a scout. It comes with the nature of his job that he'll be wrong sometimes, but I never see any true insightful things stated by him.
