Theisman just did what I am so sick of seeing. He compared the pass blocking between AZ and Chi, stating that AZ is doing a better job of pass protection than Chicago, which is why Grossman looks bad and Leinart good.

This is completely untrue. AZ is still pretty sorry in their pass blocking - the difference is that Leinart holds the ball for 3-4 seconds and gets rid of it. They showed two plays - the AZ play, from the Shotgus, Leinart gets the ball, makes two very quick reads and gets it out. It should be noted that 2 blockers were coming in. However, it only took 3 seconds for him to release.

The next play they showed to illustrate that the bears are blocking well, Grossman holds the ball for 5-6 seconds, when Bertrand Berry finall turns the corner on the OT and forces the fumble. 5-6 seconds is WAY too long to hold the ball.

The point is - your QB can make or break your line. Chicago's OL is playing much better, but Grossman, who is looking for the big, throw down the field play (even with underneat WR/RB open), is holding the ball too long.

Seriously. Watch the game. It's a true story.

FYI - Grossman and the Bears are driving.

Grossman has gotten rid of the ball within 3 seconds on all his passes and not looking at the deep WR. Wonder what that means.

On the first offensive drive of the 2nd half for Chicago, Grossman held the ball for more than 5 seconds on 3 pass plays. He completed the firsts one, but got smacked for it, because the pass protection broke down. The second play was a bootleg where no one was open and he threw it away. The third was a third and goal, and no completion. He got smacked right as he threw as well.

It looks to me that the Cards are dropping a lot more into coverage. He has to hold onto it longer.

Its not that cut and dry.

They only blitzed 2- 3 times on the drive where he got the ball out in 3 seconds.

Huh? The Bears are blitzing almost every down.

I was talking about the Cards vs. the Bears. Grossman's offensive drive in the second half, he was improvind getting the ball out - and they weren't blitzing.

Theisman finally gave Leinart credit for making the line look good.

Which is a misconception - the Line is playing poorly, Leinart is just getting rid of it.

If u cant read a defense you hold onto the ball and or throw picks in addition to the untimely sack or 5!!!

Or if you lock onto your long receiver.

someone, a better team than AZ, is going to figure out that quick passes, WCO-style game plan is going to mitigate that DL of Chicago and although Chicago's secondary is good, it is very beatable.
The Vikings actually should've beaten Chicago also.
But I'd still put money down that Chicago would beat us 9 of 10x.

I don't even know if that is it. They were calling pass plays. But Leinart was savvy enough to recognize the blitz and determine the hot read presnap. The blitz was there, but leinart, like any good quarterback, made them pay for the blitz.
