C'mon, Nightman. You know it has nothing to do with "crying poor" It's about the guaranteed money and injury risk effecting that future guaranteed money.
He can get 10m insurance for 100k and that is tax-free so it is like 20m in salary

Only the guys that haven't got paid life-changing money can hold out

DLaw lost all leverage when he made 17m in 2018.... he already got that bag

Zeke will get his money one way or another if his agent is worth a crap. Yeah you can put in Rod Smith or Alfred Morris and even though the numbers look pretty decent statistically, we won't be the same team.

It has nothing do do with his position. It has everything to do with how our team is built and Zeke. Pollard and Weber will not produce Zeke's productivity and Dak can't carry the team at this point. And guess what? Dak is going to get paid too. We aren't going to pay these guys because we have all the leverage. We are going to pay them because we need them more than they need us.

You can't pay everybody. Its easy to sit here on a chat board and lobby for folks to get paid. Thats just not the reality of a team with a salary cap. We let Demarco Murray walk the year he won the NFL's offensive MVP award and ran for 1800+ yards.

Zeke will make more , but it will be on a franchise tag if anything.

Believe me...if Zeke hits the market after this year he'll have a BOATLOAD of money thrown his way. Probably by a team in our division. If Zeke shows up in another uniform you best believe he would make it his business to crush us.

Yep, one of the best players in the nfl at any position period. You don’t let guys like that walk, unless you’re an idiot like Gruden.

The real idiot is going to be the one paying Zeke 18 million a year for 3 or 4 years of ineffective RB play.

Just look at what might be happening to Gurley out in LA now. You want that here? Not a chance. RBs have a short shelf life and once they get past age 27 or 28, all bets are off. Never pay RBs.

We almost didn’t pay Emmitt, cost us 2 games, then we woke up, realized he was indispensable, paid him and promptly won the SB.
Zeke is that special, he’s also without a single injury concern/history and the centerpiece of our offense. He could lose a step in speed and agility and still be better than almost anyone else. He has a nose for lanes. You safely can pay him one more contract and get fair value.

Zeke isn't Emmitt and this isn't 1993.

Gotta get out of that old mentality. The game is way different now.
