For his level of play, Brandon Carr was overpaid last year. It's not a secret. The Cowboys know it, the fans know it, Brandon Carr even knows it, acknowledging he didn't"finally get back into form" until near the end of the season.
But just how overpaid was he?
ESPN's Nathan Jahnke has developed a value model that takes how well a player performed and determines how much that level of play is worth against the salary capnext year.
According to Jahnke, Carr's makes him worth a $1.8 million cap hit in 2015. His current projected cap hit is $12.7 million. The $10.9 million difference is the fifth-highest in the NFL.
Before Cowboys fans get too down though, there is some good news. Jahnke ranks Giants quarterback Eli Manning No. 3.
