Lane Johnson and/or Star Lotulelei fall to Miami at 12. You get a call from Miami offering 12 and 82 (they have two third round picks) for 18 and 47.

Do you pull the trigger? And if so, who would you rather land?

As per the trade value chart, we'd be ahead value-wise by 50 points (identical to the Claiborne trade last year).

Star. Without question.

Better player. Also a more important position.

No. One player will not help this team.

This is the best draft in years to get value well into the 3rd round. They can't blow it this time by going for it.

I was not a big fan of doing it last year (though I do like MoClai), but I like the idea even less this year.

Star would be tempting though, but the team can really help itself with two starters. What if we pass on Cooper and Jesse Williams (or two others that could start long term) to get Star? I would not like that trade right now.

No...Star is better against the run than pass...only trade up if one of the top DE's drops.

We have plenty of DT types on this team, and it's unlikely than any rookie is going to replace Rat or Hatcher as starter...we can find a rotation/future starter guy in round 2. We can find a RT in round 2. We can find a safety in round 2.

There's no need to move up in round 1. I like the idea of moving down a bit for additional picks unless our scouts or coaches are in love with a guy at 18. I don't see us taking an OG at 18 at all.
