when DeMarcus Ware stripped Garcia of the football on that one play, there was not a Cowboy in sight to recover the ball. There were 5 Eagles around but no Cowboys to help DeMarcus make a play. He did his part with no help from not ONE of the 10 other guys. This was a freaking pass play!!! Wouldn't you think there would be at least one other pass rusher in the vicinity somewhere:bang2:

Yes, it's amazing that not a singe Cowboy was in the backfield. Not a single one. Unreal.

This is an excellent point. Every other team seems to have someone in the neighborhood to recover our miscues, but we seem to flub it up more often than not when the ball is on the ground and there for the taking. This has happened not only off the sacks, but on fumbles down the field this season as well.

I posted the exact same thing in the game thread as it happened

I was livid

Sorry I missed it. There are so many threads out there. It just popped back up in my mind. I'm getting ready to go home and I will NOT be watching any football sports talk this week. I can't take it.

Philly had no one near the snap that went over Romo's head and that was on the goaline.

I'm not sure even Randal Williams could have made it back 10 yards in less than a second.

Cribbed from a draft message board:

I want to point out something which I feel further strengthen my point on our ILB situation and BP's ideas on LBing.

BP wants big strong ILB which in today NFL run 250-260. Back in BP's glory days they went 240-250. Same speed. He wants them to win 1-1 battles at the point of attack particularly against guards.

So.....

Problem is Guards in todays NFL are running 320 plus (Andrews yesterday) and this is nearly 40 pounds heavier than in BP's glory days when they went 280-290.

This is a difference of 30 pounds of muscle. How can you expect a better outcome under this scheme????

If the answer is more dominant DEs that occupy the OL then what is the point of getting big pluggers at ILB?

What is left for an ILB to plug if the DL does the plugging????

Well, ILBs are left to make plays and you need speed.

This team hasn't had a commendable pass rush since Haley and Tolbert were forced into retirement by injury. I'm dumbfounded as to what the answer is, 10 years of experimentation has produced next to nothing.

I don't think it's too much to ask for a 250 lb. linebacker that has some decent speed. James is just slow. Very, very slow.

Bill's take on 'small fast backers' has always been 'but I want BIG FAST ones'.

Smalller guys like uhh, Dat Nguyen, Zack Thomas, and Jon Vilma wear down in December.

Or haven't you noticed?

(sarcasm off)
