The thought of Dez on one side and Johnson on the other -- that's a intriguing thought.
1,400 yards receiving is nothing to sneeze at.

Texans, however are unwilling to deal him at present.

Jerra/Romo, if you are reading this, weigh in on this intriguing thought.

A better thought is trading Dez to Houston for 2 1sts and letting those 2 WRs light it up in H town. Meanwhile our cap problems will be solved and the new picks won't arrive a moment late. 2015 & 2016

CHAMPIONSHIP

teams are not built behind wide receivers

What's it going to be then, eh?

Practically every team in the league would take a stud WR like Johnson.

Few can afford him.

I say we trade two No. 1 picks for him because all we need to get back to the Super Bowl is an elite receiver.

Wait, this isn't 2000? My mistake. Those Joey Galloway flashbacks are killer.

What makes anybody believe Johnson wants to play for Dallas? At best, the Cowboys are a couple years away and have a solid chance of having a new coach in 2015. Johnson is nearing the end and wants to win a Super Bowl now. And what he's hoping for are the Seahawks, Patriots, Broncos, 49ers, or Packers to come calling for him.

Plus, what price would you trade for a 33-ish receiver? Give me Dez, Williams, Beasley, Harris, and Street for now.

Playing the devil's advocate general here: The thought of Dez and Johnson just seems so right. Yet . . .

As I half said, with our (projected, by me) awful, awful defense, it is impearative that Romo and offensive coaches go to a balanced attack: i.e. more ground game.
That would be to milk the clock and keep opposing offenses from driving our defense nuts.

So maybe that lineup of Johnson and Dez should just remain a pup dream.

I agree with you. What is intriguing is that you know what Johnson is hoping for and who'd he play for. Tell us more . . . .and specifically when the govt. will issue to all of us JETPACKS!!!l

I don't know what Johnson wants, but I based this on the fact NFL Network says he doesn't want to go through another rebuilding phase this late in his career. He might see the Cowboys as one. So I listed the teams that are probably the closest to the Super Bowl right now.

I see. But the jetpacks are non-negotiable!

Also, Johnson's age came up. OK, he's is about Romo's age, so you Romo acolytes don't all of the sudden go ageist on Johnson, OK?

The typical player wants to get out from under his current team and Dallas picking him up thread. Haven't seen one of these in a while.

Quarterbacks age better than receivers- I think Favre, Marino, Elway, Moon, even Tom Brady have proven that. I'm not sure how many wideouts not named Jerry Rice stayed at or near their average career production into their mid to late thirties. But your point is well taken regardless.
