Andy Dalton 2019 highlights

Dalton is an average QB replacing a slightly above average QB. We'll get similar results with him playing QB.

Hope he can come in a do a good job. Teams will be preparing for him now. Another thing is by the time he came in we probably had the Giants defensive game plan deciphered as opposed to the start of the game when teams are trying to see what the other is doing.

He seems to actually have more athleticism running then I anticipated in that video. I don't know why but I'm very interested to see how our passing game looks in the coming weeks.

Something else getting overlooked is his 9 years of experience as a starter. In fact, this is one of the few advantages he has over Dak........he's seen ever scheme/coverage out there. Count me STILL excited about the season and where we're going lol.

Not blaming all on Andy......but every time the scores were shown on the highlight film....in catching the team record, the wins stayed at 0 for a long time....a real long time.

Under no illusions that Dalton is some kind of hidden gem for us, and that his situation in Cincy merely led to a few bad years. He has proven to be an average QB and I bet he will continue to be average here.

No question is my mind, Dalton is probably better than at least half, maybe more than, of all starting QBs.
Drafted 2011 and 2014 signed 6 years $96M deal with the Bengal. That deal expired last year him earning $16M. Extending him with another deal would have likely cost $28-30M but they finished with the worst record and chance at the top pick. So after 9 years, they decided to go young and cheaper rather than continue with a 32-year-old QB costing $30M. My point is Andy probably has at least another 2-3 strong high-level years left. He simply ran out of time with the Bengals and two or three open starting positions around the league didn't appeal to him. So being here is not about a player whose talent has regressed. He just got caught at a crossroad. BTW....notice Dak's injury now puts him in line to add another $4M to his $3M salary.

Not all is lost, we can still win this......

The great thing about highlight videos is they never contain your bad plays. You may not want to watch this one, also from the 2019 season.

If he starts throwing up ducks like these the mood here will change. If he was just what you see in the happy video Cinci wouldn't have spent the top pick on a QB.

Honesty that video was not encouraging. Most of the deep ball highlights were 50/50 balls in what the posters here would call "garbage time". Also, they were behind in most clips to some pretty bad teams.
It's only written off as meaningless garbage time throws when it's someone like Dak doing it.

Also, his passer rating in 2019 was 78. He was basically Dwayne Haskins-level bad. But it only counts as bad when it's someone like Haskins.

When someone like Dalton does what those kind of guys do, we're gonna still wax poetic about how he's a high-level starter in this league. Not hard to figure out what's behind this.

Fun to watch!! Just for fun, I'll be the devil's advocate for the Dalton haters soon to arrive: "He threw every pass short and would've had 30 interceptions if the corners were any good." :muttley:
Just cheer for Dalton and our team I'm tired of the rubbish and disunity. It's no wonder the other team's fans thinks so low of our fan base..

Love the die hard enthusiasm. But those highlights led the Bengals to the no.1 pick in the 2020 draft.

It going to be hard but that's why the play the game.

The Cowboys averaged 32 ppg with Dak this season. They averaged 15.4 in the first half.

Tonight? Cardinals 38, Cowboys 10

I kept waiting for those 400 yards and 30 points guys like you called "garbage time" - any QB can do it.

Don't quit your day job.
