I have to put in my two cents about Sundays loss. I know I will get called all kinds of stupid, but here are my concerns/observation:
Parcells is over coaching. His decision to sit Vandy and take Suisham didn't cost the game, but it could have. Parcells has to prove that he is in charge and this decision was not a good one. Parcells is so worried about saving face that he has made some decisions that are questionable. Maybe he is a genius and time will prove him right.
Bledsoe didn't play enough in the preseason. As I remember, Bledsoe only played about four qtrs worth of football in the preseaon so that Romo could show his stuff. He wasn't ready to play an entire game. He p0layed about one qtr of football, which is what they prepared him for during the preseason. Maybe the Jax game will be his tune up.
I am not ready to give up on Bledsoe, but I do wonder if Romo is the QB of the future or not. We need a franchise QB to win a championship. Is Romo that QB? We need to find out this year so, if we have to, we can take one in the draft next year.
Starting to wonder if what everyone said that Columbo is better than Pettiti is true. His first start in three years, so I will give Columbo a break and say he needs to get in the groove. I am pulling for this kid because of the adversity he has had to fight through, but . . .
Why did we pick a TE in the second round if what we were looking for was a fullback? Did Fasano catch any passes? Did we throw to him at all? He did good blocking, but if we need blockers, we should have gone OLine.
Julius Jones looked good. Except for the some of the plays called, he ran the ball with the elusiveness we expect to see. I think Barber and Jones is a good combination.
OLine. Flo did not seem ready. That being said, I don't want to see a rookie play LT. McQ has potential and I don't want to see him fed to the wolves like they did Pettiti. It won't take long for everyone to label him the worst tackle in the NFL if he makes his rokie mistakes. If Flo can;t go, try Fabini at LT. At least he has had a career and if he gets abused McQ can sit back and learn.
Our defense better stop believing their press. I didn't see anything Sunday that led me to believe the defense was in the top 5. The coverage was too loose and there was very little QB pressure. Was Roy staying underneath to help out Ellis? I am still wondering why try this experiment now. Hope it works out for the team's and Ellis' benefit, but it worries me.
Sure the Jags are a good team, but we should have beaten them. It appeared to me that the Cowboys were not ready to play. This loss was not Bledsoe's, or Flo's, or Ware's, it was a team effort. If that is the case, doesn't that point towards coaching as the reaosn the team wasn't prepared?
I am losing confidence in Parcells. 'Nuff said.
