Another T.O. Question

I know he doesn't have enough years left in him for this, but suppose T.O. were to go on and have 3-4 huge, happy years with the Cowboys, owning the league like he did a few years back.

We'd all be happy to see the Cowboys winning, but many of us will never really consider him a Cowboy, and as Brain indicated in another thread, many of us would never want to wear anything linked to him.

Here's the question, ignoring the fact that it is highly improbable...just to test the waters on how folks truly feel about T.O.

If T.O. were to be inducted into the HOF in the future, and because of his final happy years in Dallas, along with the way he left SF and Philly, he wanted to be inducted as a Cowboy, would you "love it" or "hate it"?

Personally, I'd hate it. I view him as a rented player that we are using and allowing him to use us...very happy to see us win, but I'll never like him and I'd never want him to win any personal accolades while with us...just can't stand him. I would never want to see him in the Hall alongside the all time great Cowboys, all of whom I respect.

What about you?

I say great, put him in the HOF and the ring of Honor.
He deserves to go to the Hall now IMO.

Ehh...I would not get to terribly excited of any player making the HOF as a Cowboy if they only played a few years for the Boys.

I mean I would not complain, but it is not the same as a homegrown player making the HOF.

To me it is not about TO it is about a non homegrown player making the Hall.

I hear ya but... what if Dallas is what ailed him? what if he stay a good teammate and the other embrace him? what if he contributes to our next 3 of 4? Jerry brought him and really related to him on all levels so I think its possible that TO wants to finish out here... if we win SB's he would be crazy to want to leave... and Jerry will pay him to stay. So I say...depending on what happens... its possible to retire a cowboy... but he came to us late.... so it would take GREAT circumstances for that.

If he is a major contributor and POSITIVE TEAM player for the Cowboys... and the TEAM that he plays for wins the SuperBowl 2 or 3 times during those 3-4 years... you still gonna feel the same way?

Would you hate it if Drew Bledsoe went into the hall of fame as a Dallas Cowboy?

Wasn't Charles Haley troublesome in San Fran? You okay with him being in the hall of fame as a Dallas Cowboy?

I'm not asking these questions to be sarcastic. I'm trying to get to the matter of whether you actually have a problem with FREE AGENCY, or you simply just hate TO. The days of players spending their entire career with one team were gone with the advent of Free Agency.

All of the people responsible for drafting the players between the time Jimmy Johnson left to when Bill Parcells was hired are to be blamed for the Cowboys being in the position of having to acquire these "rented players".

As mentioned already... you dont go in with your team... but I would say that if Drew were to win SB. He would elect to go as a Cowboy. I am sure that NE creates bad memories for him.

As far as Haley... I think he already professed his love for San Fran.

Sorry man but that really wasn't the point of the questions at all.

I asked the questions in order to get answers about how people FELT about it... not if it would actually happen or not.

Gotcha!

I would feel good about TO going in as Cowboy.
I would feel good about Haley going in as Cowboy.
I would feel good about Bledsoe going in as Cowboy.

Players aren't inducted with teams. That's baseball.
Somebody always says that, but if we win a SB or two with him and Parcells, and if he wanted Parcells to introduce him, then he'd be going in as a Cowboy.

Not saying it'll happen, but that's how it would work.

For the last time, players don't go into the hall of fame under a certain team.

If he gets introduced it will be as Terrell Owens, not Terrell Owens of the Dallas Cowboys.

I wouldn't have any problem with that. I think Deion should go in as a Cowboy, though I suspect To would be a 49er and Deion will be a Falcon.

Really TO playing 3-4 more years at the level he plays at now is not somethingn that would surprise me - he's a true freak of nature. If any player can do it, he can. And if he does so as a cowboy that will thrill me to no end! This is it, this is his final hurrah, TO has found his happiness in the form of a team he can love as greatly as his passion...Irvin helped him with that. He'll never wear another team's color again as long as we don't screw him over, which we won't. Some fans can boo and blah all they want, but fact of the freaking matter is, HE IS NOW A COWBOY! Nothing else prior to this matters anymore and it shouldn't. Love him fully and unconditionally or prove your wavering loyalty to this team, it's as simple as that. As of right now, TO seems more like a Cowboy then some of you seem like fans since his arrival, and that's the truth.

If you want to think of it another way, he's 'the ******* that just married your daughter. He's part of the family now. Deal.

I would still never buy anything with his name on it.

However if his attitude was good the whole time and he helped us win I could support him in some fashion...just not monetarily. :laugh2:

I did not care for Keyshaun but he earned my respect.

Still don't care for Deion but he was a heck of a player for us before he got hurt.

Some players it is not their ability or lack of ability I have a problem with, sometimes it is just the person that irritates me.

I thought I made it clear...I simply can't stand T.O., and I'm honest about it. I loved Charles Haley and think it's ridiculous that he's not in the HOF.
