im looking forward to him, i think he can prove people wrong. hes gotten a lot bigger and i just hope that he can pull out a good season, id like to see this guy spring out. before a huge knock on him was that he is lazy but after adding 15 lbs it shows hes more dedicated to starting so we will see.

More than anything, I wonder why this poll was put up during draft weekend. The season doesn't start for over 4 months.

I think he's going to be a very good center. People seem to forget how small Mark Stepnoski was. Al Johnson will be fine; and he's much bigger than Stepnoski.

One problem with this comparison, Stepnoski was good.

I dont know that he is stronger than Stepnoski is, but I do know for sure that technically Johnson is nowhere close to what Stepnoski was...Step played with great leverage and technique, Johnson plays doesnt

As long as they use Johnson the right way, he'll be fine. If they pull him and take advantage of his athleticism, instead of asking him to move NTs who outweigh him by 50 pounds or more. It all depends on the blocking scheme they intend to employ. And with Larry Allen gone and quicker guards like Kosier and Rivera in, this should be the case. I'm excited about the possibility of actually using the screen pass and not embarrasing ourselves in the process.

Not at all, the over exaggeration of his poor play is more disappointing to me

Couldn't agree with this more. While he isn't the greatest, he is far better than people make him out to be. PLus if you consider he didn't play at all in 2004 this was basically his rookie year. I THINK I also read that he has put on 15 pounds this off-season too. Not sure but I'm sure I read that.
