If the 49ers or Seattle would've picked this guy everybody would be on their jock saying how great a find he was for them. Dallas picks him and he's a reach, give me a break. Kid is tough and can play who cares where he was drafted.

Seriously, have you watched any tape?
Iowa vs LSU, Nebraska.
You might notice #44- he looks like a player.

Lov these guys that come on pasting scouting reports and ignore the 7th round prospect ranking because that part is wrong. They reached for need.

You have stars in your eyes.

and tell me where you see this player with what you're sa.
You might notice #44 by accident.
Just a quick look at the guys positives will tell you exactly why the Cowboys took him:

"Possessing a compact, athletic frame, Hitchens displays an explosive first step, good balance through contact and agility to redirect quickly in space. Highly physical defender who delivers a pop on contact to fight off blockers, as well as good lateral agility to avoid them. He's also a good fundamental tackler and an effective blitzer who exploits creases in the line and closes quickly in space."

He is exactly the type of LB needed for Marinelli's system.

And speaking for myself, he has some of the traits that I want to get on the defense, like being highly physical and tough.

I don't know how anyone can be upset about taking this guy in the 4th round... unless you just get so caught up in where some mock draft guy at a computer thought he would be drafted.

I didn't say he was a great prospect or that he will be a good or bad player... just that you can understand why Marinelli would want him on his defense. Good lateral agility, physical, compact athletic frame, closes quickly. If he is a good player of not, I don't know... but he has traits Marinelli likes.

That's what I was saying.

Geez bro... what did Hitchens take your girl from you or something?

I mean, really you can go find some low-lights of his and post a bad game of his, but what I do know is that he was Iowa's Defensive MVP last season and that Marinelli and the pro scouts in Dallas signed off on the guy.

When he could have been picked up later, it was stupid to draft him at this point. It is a matter of getting the most value at every pick.

If you believe rankings by people who don't actually work for NFL teams then yes

I've watched all of his snaps in 4 games. I really like him now.

Do you think he's a candidate for the Will spot? Admittedly, I haven't seen any of his tape but Marinelli did use a guy in Chicago that I think would be pretty similar to what I've read, in Lance Briggs.

People think we need pure speed at Will, but Briggs was dominant for years in this scheme and he had similar attributes to Hitchens.

Honestly, I know he doesn't have the combine or workout stats, but watching him play reminds me a lot of Shazier.

Eberflus said he will play middle in an interview earlier today. He was all bubbly about him in fact.

I think he could play all 3 spots, but will probably be the backup MLB as a rookie.

Has led Iowa the last 2 years, sounds like our back up MLB, caught everybody by surprise but in Willy McClay doing his thing I trust ;)

If this guy comes in and helps our defense then who cares what round he is drafted. This guy has a knack for timely big plays, so let's see what he can do first before saying he sucks. I believe in Marinelli and Will

it's not will and marinelli it's the special teams coach and jerry said as much
