good point: god is he quick: he was in on about 25 plays yesterday. Just ALL OVER THE FIELD. Classic that they thought they'd hoodwink JJ on that one...........who looks like the DOPE now?

PS: he'll be all pro next year and beyond if healthy. That scrape with the law before the season was a well needed wake up call I do believe..............

Spencer was taken 26th by us after trading up from 36, I think it's likely he would've fell to 36 and even if we couldn't trade up, and he was gone, we 'd have taken LaMarr Woodley. So even if Philly is aware that we used their trade to take Spencer, they probably don't care much

There is a thread on a certain Eagles message board where they are doing some serious rueing over that move. :lmao:

20-16 in their own building and 24-0 in a game with high stakes and a back-to-back short week rematch in our building?

I think they care much.

He had a ridiculous number of tackles, if I recall correctly, for a 4-3 DE while he was in college. Wade emphasized during that draft that he has a knack for being in plays that are all over the field, saying specifically that he'd chase down players on the opposite side of the field, etc.

He's an active player. I hope he only continues to improve.

I know they care about losing, but I'm just knocking the notion that they're kicking themselves for doing that trade. Like I pointed out, it's very likely we would've gotten him anyway or we would've possibly settled on a guy selected later who's played better.

His senoir season he had 93 combined tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss (wow) and 10.5 sacks

I honestly think Spencer has more potential than Woodly. Hopefully he can live up to that potential, but so far it appears he is on the right track.

It's over on Igglephans in a thread titled, "and let's not forget Reid's brilliant GM move".

Lot's of swearing ensues. Not sure if we are allowed to link over there.

I remember hearing a story that he played a game with a broke arm or some other type of crazy injury.

I think it was Joe Thomas in his Senior year in college saying that Spencer was the most difficult player to guard that year. Even Celek this year mentioned something similar and I've casually heard commentators saying that coaches they talk too are concerned about Spencer when preparing for a game. The funny thing is people on this forum were ready to cut him and Jenkins... Wade definitely knows personnel...

Greg Ellis is a nice player did a great job for us for a long time. But Ware and Spencer are two guys that may be the best pass rushers in Cowboy's history by the time they are done. Both are going to be nearly impossible to block.
