WG posted a link saying that the league, not the team can dole out punishments for drinking crimes

Well there goes my "put yourself on probation" scheme.

Jerry should learn from the Pacman debacle and discipline Spencer himself. If he waits for the league to take action, he may not like the results.

Jerry wanted the draft pick. :laugh2:

I can't even begin to list all the players who's gotten away with worse without any action taken by the league in the last 2 years alone.

If Spencer gets suspended over this then something is seriously wrong with the NFL

I agree, there are tons of players who did much worse and didnt get suspended.

The NFL was going to suspend Pacman no matter what Jerry did. Jerry did the right thing. In fact Pacman did not deserve a one game suspension by team standards. He did deserve it by his probation standards he agreed to with the NFL. I bet if Jerry had suspended Pacman that the league still also would have suspended Pacman.

looks like Ellis is staying for sure now.

And he never was going anywhere. They aren't going to go short on the most important position on the team except maybe QB and I can argue that. Besides last year Ellis was better anyway.

I think it was better for Jerry to wait on this one. I don't know all the circumstances of the arrest. Could have been a few words to the wrong cop or he could deserve a lot worse than a game or so. I was hoping he didn't deserve a suspension but oh well.

He doesnt deserve to be suspended if this is all he's ever done. Many other guys have done worse and have received no punishment at all.

Knowing the bias of the league office, he'll get 4-6 games or something ridiculous like that. Anything other than a fine (again, if this is all he's ever done) is b/s.

Here's the problem I have with Goodell, he has always stated he will take action to clean up the image of the league. Who cares if they are guility or not. Bottom line we all know how the legal system works, if you have money you will not be punished as ordinary citiizens would. So Harrison's wife/girlfriends drops the charges, what a surprise. The league still looks like a bunch of thugs/criminals in the eyes of many people.

If arrested and charged you should be suspended.

Pacman has never been found guility of anything yet he has missed 20 something games and he should have because he makes the league look bad.

Too bad he didn't play for Pittsburgh for New England.

Agreed.

Its a shame he doesn't play for Pitt and Woodley doesn't play for us.
