Agreed.

Its a shame he doesn't play for Pitt and Woodley doesn't play for us.

Yeah I REALLY wanted Dallas to draft either Woodley or Spencer... Looks like Lamar has officially turned the corner is the better play right now.

Substance abuse violation (alcohol-related arrests) falls under league review.

It's only right.

I expect a big fine since he's not a repeat offender...we think.

Sure does.

Unfortunately Roger the Rube needs to explain the reasoning behind not suspending Santonio Holmes or even worse, Johnny Jolly.

I have nothing against Spencer being suspended, but there needs to be some uniformity in the league's suspensions. Otherwise it's just hypocritical and paying lip service to the fans.

Going by history, Holmes will be suspended as a repeat offender once his case is resolved.
I'm sure Jolly will probably be suspended once his case is resolved, as well. Beside's Jolly's already in the system.

If you track Goodell's comments the past year or so, suspensions tend to be limited to repeat offenders and not even all that harsh. 4 games initially, then reduced on appeal (*** kissing).

He came down hard (on a few folks) initially to set the tone. I think it's pretty clear to everyone he doesn't mess around.

Santonio Holmes - busted with pot
Jamal Williams - DUI
Lance Briggs - DUI and filing a false police report
Kevin Faulk - busted with pot
James Harrison - domestic violence

none have been suspended

I think there is something to the Cowboy paronia

Also something to the "Pro-Stealer" league bias. It happens on the field with the refs and happens at the league office when it comes to crap like this.

Spencer was universally rated higher than Woodley was. Woodley's played in a good scheme and gotten more chances for PT. Spencer has been the 3rd wheel behind an all world OLB and another who made the probowl in 2007 and is a very steady player himself.

If Woodley were here, he'd be at best in the same boat Spencer has been in. Woodley was not going to play ahead of Ellis here.

And as I said in another post, Woodley wasnt behind DeMarcus Ware and Greg Ellis. If Woodley were here, he'd probably have seen even less time than Spencer has.

On the other hand of Spencer was in Pitt instead of Woodley, we'd be hearing all the complaining of "gee why couldnt we have taken him!!!"

That's kind of surprising. Hopefully he can bounce back from this and put this crap behind him, hey the guy was upset we missed the playoffs so he had to vent somehow.

I can't even begin to list all the players who's gotten away with worse without any action taken by the league in the last 2 years alone.

If Spencer gets suspended over this then something is seriously wrong with the NFL

Amen brother. I guess the Rooneys get to "discipline" players themselves.

He might just get a fine.....

Nevermind that statement he is a Cowboy.

As harsh as Goodell is on our boys I think this time it will be a fine. First offense and Spencer's been squeaky clean since.

Weren't the charges bought against Spencer dropped? If so, than there is no reason why he should be suspended (ala James Harrison).

If he is, than I hope Jonathan Vilma will also be suspended for a very similar charge which also happend to be dropped.
