Antonio Bryant for Larry Johnson

I know that this doesnt matter at all and we hit the jackpot by sittin on Jones injury to heal, but apperintly AB was well known around the league and one of the ofers that was presented to the Boys was for Cheifs RB Larry Johnson. Parcells didnt want him because he wanted to lose dept at WR so he wanted to trade a 3rd WR for another 3rd WR. But imagine the 1-2 punch we would have had if we did that. I think another reason that he did not trade for him is b/cause he was a whinner in KC arueing about playing time just like AB. Vermil even told him to take his dipers off once and didnt even play him till like the last 2 games of last year even though Holmes got injured like half way through the season. I wonder what else was on the table for AB


By the way: AB had 5 catches for 65 yards.

B) If we got LJ then JJ would have been placed on IR and we wouldn't know anything about him at this point.
C) AB had a big catch in garbage time yesterday -- when it mattered he was more like 4 for 48 - pretty pedestrian.

You can go back and dream about what if all you want, but man, this Cowboys team is gunna be exciting. I love the players we have and sure LJ woulda been cool, but that would not be this cowboys team. Sure Moss woulda been great too, but that would not have been this team.

I love the team we have and the players we have. If we change players somewhere along the road, I will love them too (provided there not named TO).

Another thing is would we use LJ the same way KC does. I remember when Hambone got 3 carries a game for 100 yards and everyone thought we had our replacement, then D's keyed on him and he sucked. Whos to say when LJs the man, he wont fall in stature. Priest has done it all day long with 8-9 in the box and still put up 150 yards. LJs never seen the limelight yet. You dont know whats gunna happen.

In all, who cares, LJs gunna be what hes gunna be. We have an exciting team to root for, why would you want to wonder about other teams players?

Rudy Johnson is on my fantasy team, and I watched a good portion of that game. Antonio Bryant was non-existent for most of the game. Started out the game with a few catches, and didn't really do anything until the final possession of the game in mop up time. They were trying to throw to him a lot, but he wasn't getting much seperation.

Crayton had me stoked in the pre season. Yesterday he showed us he can do it in the regular season. Crayton played great.

How about this for going back in time - maybe we could have traded up 2 more spots in the second round and picked Randal-El? What would those extra spots have cost us? A 6th rounder?

A) Pretty solid rumor when Vermeil admits it.
B) I'd rather not yet know that JJ was a total stud and still have TWO total studs in Jones AND Johnson.
C) A 12 yard average is pedestrian, but an 1 more catch for a whopping 17 yards is a big deal? Dude, it's 5 more yards. Hardly like 4-48 yards but an extra 80 yard bomb in "garbage time".
D) If Vermeil keeps giving carries to LJ instead of Priest my fantasy team is screwed.

If you look at AB's career he has a pattern of putting up big #s in garbage time. He has big games in blowouts when the defenders are playing prevent. He's always looing to get an extra catch or two against the 2nd string.

That stuff might excite fantasy folks but I want a receiver who does it when it counts, not just when he can pad his #s.

Wow - I'd be shocked to hear a coach discuss trades that didn't happen.

How do you think LJ would feel being almost traded for a scrub?
