I remember the giants having a decent secondary and a real good line. Their lbs were mud though. The secondary covered that up. I normLly rank dbs as the least important thing on the field but if you can get a solid one on the cheap, its a no brainer. Signing him doesnt prevent them from drafting line help in the first two rounds.

Oh no i'm not against signing Cromartie. Especially if its all its going to take is a 1 year 3 million dollar deal. I'm just saying I believe you can get away with inconsistent secondary play if you have a consistent pass rush.

lot-o-decisions this off-season by the cowboys, and signing a FA CB is something like #10 on the list, unless they plan to cut Carr (which is near the #1 decision to make one way or the other)

Money would be better spent on defensive line help.

Man I facilitate over this one. Outside of edge rusher not sure we HAVE to have a DT although I'd sure like a rush DT. We need at least one maybe two starting quality CBs. AC is ok.

Edge rusher is number one but DB is number two on my list and CB is probably a bigger need than S although I'd LOVE to have a ballhawk at S.

How about a 1-year, 3.5M contract like he had in 2014?

I think there's zero chance of that.

He far exceeded what he was paid for 2014 and will (rightly) be looking to cash in.

I think 3 years $18 million with $10 million guaranteed is more in the neighborhood. A deal which I would take. But I would also be talking to Charles Tillman as well.

But, if nothing else, unless he re-signs with Arizona before free agency, you can use him and his comments as leverage in negotiations with Carr.

Don't worry he ain't coming to Dallas, he is just using us as a bargaining tool for Arizona. IMO I doubt he leaves the Cardinals.

Cromartie has had hip problems on two occasions, and is 31 years old. You don't pay age. Pass.

We don't get the June 1st cap savings until June 1st Meaning it will not help us this offaeason sign any one. Best case is to get carr to take a free like pay cut.

They sign the draft picks after June 1st.

Only 51 players count against the cap in the off-season. Once the season starts the have to account for the extra 2 on the 53, the practice squad and any players on IR.

Also, they can restructure a player they otherwise wouldn't have restructured and then roll over any extra cap space to next season.

Waiting to June 1st might have been an issue in years past when they were so strapped for space they restructured Orton just to be 300K in cap space. They are not in that type of cap situation anymore. They could free up 50M in cap space if needed.

I'm ok with letting carr walk but I don't think cutting carr and brining in Cromartie would make a difference. Your adding more cap space for about the same player.

We let carr walk then I say draft 2 CBs somewhere in the 1st 4 rounds. No reason to add another mid range cap hit for same player.

For a 31-year old?

One-year contract only. Period.

That's fine. He will get a longer deal elsewhere. He will play for somebody else. Guys who play in the Pro Bowl generally don't settle for 1 year deals.

Cromartie said he likes Arizona and he doesn't want to keep moving his family around and jumping from team to team. He then said he wouldn't mind going back to New York because his family loves New York. Then he said he likes Dallas because he wants to retire in Dallas.

By family, what does that mean? The whole squad? He has like 100 kids with like 50 different women...

said on First Take he wants to do whats best for him and his Family but he mentioned he wouldn't mind playing for Dallas because he wants to retire there when his career is over.

I wouldn't t mind taking Cromartie if he had a reasonable price tag.

Woman of Dallas should be forewarned first.

I think I played in the Pro Bowl. That means nothing. Only All-Pro matters.

How many 33 year old corners do you see in the NFL?

My point is that they are not tied to Carr. Their options are open. They can force him to take a pay cut or they can replace him with a free agent. The thing I don't think they will do is cut him without signing a free agent replacement.

If Carr with a pay cut and a free agent at the same price are the decision, then I could see them stay with Carr if the free agent is only slightly more talented because Carr now has 2 years in this scheme. Continuity is important to the scheme.
