Hey Zoners,

I am planning on taking my dad to the Bucs @ Cowboys game on December 18th for his 70th birthday. It will be our first time in Texas, and I am looking for any general advice on things to do in the area, where to buy tickets (looking to spend around $500 a ticket), where to stay, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yeah, Stand up and yell and cheer as loud as you can at the appropriate times. As a long distance fan, it pains me to see the apathy in the stands at Cowboys home games.

as a long distance fan you have no idea what is going on in the stands to be honest.
I know what I can see and hear on TV, and that has been backed up numerous times from locals that regularly attend the games.

I'm a season ticket holder and I have some seats in the 1st row of the end zone on the aisle I can sell to you. It would be $500 for the set though.. not $500 per ticket. I can send the tickets to you electronically right after you pay. I can also give you advice on exactly where to park.

Guys, I'm a season ticket holder and I can tell you 100% the fans are terrible most of the time. Way more fans sit than stand. TONS of dumb fans. Worst fans I have seen at any stadium I have ever been to. I have been to several stadiums. If the fans realized they could make an impact on the game, they would probably get into it more. Just uneducated fans. It's also a little bit of sensory overload.. there is so much going on there and so much excitement.

Pretty much. The fans in the party zones (standing only) are much more rowdy and loud than the people if the seats (in general).

I've lost my voice at every game I've attended and stood almost the whole time. It really is a sensory overload, though. The stadium is so nice and spacious.

That is why I hate going to games......I go to watch football, not to be a screaming cheerleader for 3+ hours......I know that makes me a bad home fan but I've already gotten over it....drunken idiots yelling at me to stand up during commercial breaks to 'support the team' is not my idea of fun

To the OP, I would try to get into a box somewhere with my 70 year Dad

One of you wear a Romo jersey, the other wear a Dak jersey...that way only half of the cowboys fans will be upset. :p:cool:

Just kidding...no advice for you...however I will say good luck to you and your dad and I hope you two have a great time. :starspin:

I'm a former season ticket holder for over 3 decades at Texas Stadium. I can tell you Jerry priced most of the old diehard fans out of the new stadium. We never had many opposing fans at Texas Stadium. The new stadium season tickets are corporate driven.

If you're willing to spend that kind of money, I wouldn't get Endzone seats.
I would get something with a Sideline View.

As a Season Ticket Holder, I disagree. I have sideline Seats and my tickets are only $79 face value.
It's the secondary market that jacks the price up, not Jerry.
The money I make from selling my tickets allows me to more than cover my cost and attend a game or two a year.

My take after finally attending a game in ATT Stadium is that it's really not the fans' fault. The stadium is just not built for a football homefield advantage (or for a football game even), it's really just a giant entertainment center; really great for concerts, monster truck shows, and other non-football related events.

I guess you could say that the rare times the crowd DOES get really loud is very impressive considering how the stadium is built

Go to Stubhub or Ticketmaster for best prices and safest site. My good friend sits in the Silver Section lower level about 20 yard line $350 a seat face value.

I'd recommend going to one of the local restaurants and use their shuffle to the game.

If your wanting a memorable Cowboy experience the night before go to Gaylord Texan in Grapevine the official Cowboy hotel for a beverage or snack in sports bar and watch some sports on the huge 52ft screen and enjoy the Cowboy theme. You might even see a Cowboy player going thru the hotel lobby to their room.

And get there early to shop in Huge Cowboys pro shop before the game . After the game wayyy too packed . Stadium gates open 2 hours before kickoff.

I absolutely despise endzone seats - plus, don't those cheerleaders get in your way:)

We never sold our tickets at Texas Stadium. The same seats I had in lower level were about $1500 year started at $350 a year in late 70's. Basically same seat would have been almost 8,000 a year not including parking or PSL.

My old face value were $75 , the new ones would have been $345 between 10-20 Yard line lower level.
