Any chance Cowboys bring in new tackles before Friday?

Part of the reason the passing game has been abysmal tonight is because the tackles, especially Weems have gotten run over. Is it possible there are tackles on the street better than Weems and Coughlin?

Think they're trying to get Demetress Bell in shape to compete soon, so no they won't bring anyone in but god don't let Romo play behind Weems EVER!!

tonight we had 170+ rushing yards.

no one from the 1st team ever saw play after the 1st series.

the OL did ok today. 1st of 5 games, but look at the fact every RB looked good.

do we have 4 good backup RB's or did the line do their job?

We have enough in Smith, Free and Parnell. If Bell can show to be productive, maybe he can earn a backup spot on the 53. It doesn't really matter how bad Weems and Coughlin are since they have no shot of making the team.

Are we in need of them?

Even if we did, i don't think there are any "name" guys out there anymore. Would be a crap shoot at this point with whoever you would chose to bring in. Nothing that's going to be a substantial upgrade to what we have right now i wouldn't think.

Lol. I hadn't heard any part of the team was 'abysmal' tonight. Especially given the players we had throwing and catching.

I do think we have a serious issue at OT. Especially with Parnell out, we're really thin out there. And I haven't all that much confidence in Parnell yet this season until he gets some snaps. Thankfully, Free is playing well, or I'd be freaking out like burm is about our OG play. Weems looked overmatched, we can't count on him for game snaps. Coughman looked better, fwtw, but not good enough. We need to keep an eye on the waiver wire for a guy who fits physically and at least has some playing experience if these young guys can't show serious improvement next month.

free may never live up to a 1st round pick.

but remove that, he can still play.

we need to get the most out of him we can, not get mad he's not a superstar smelling his armpits.

Free wasn't a first round pick i think he was a 3rd or 4th but it doesn't matter just hope he can build from last night.

Parnell is the one that frustrates me---seems as if he took the offseason off mentally, he just didn't come in ready to compete or play, maybe thinking he had it all going his way without improvement? Then he gets dinged up right off the bat. He just seemed to take a big step backwards in his progression.

Huh? Free was a fourth round pick. Did you mean Smith?

Bell might end up- if he gets in shape- as the swing tackle. If Parnell does not get it together.

Free- I just DO NOT TRUST HIM. Mental issues can crop up at ANY TIME and that clearly was where his problem was.

But we are pretty much stuck with him this year.

Bell was a special kind of bad last year so I am not sure counting on him would be a good idea. Parnell is scaring me too, thought he might be the answer as a swing tackle but when you can't get on the field...who knows? Probably be looking at the waiver wire for help.

Why dont we just let Weems develope instead of declaring him terrible after one game? He has nice athleticism and went against a first rounder last night. He has nice upside and I think the staff has something tocwork with here.

I agree.....I think the kid has decent feet- and looks to be pretty athletic.

the 2 penalties hurt....But, I think you got some upside here. Will be keeping an eye on him;)

not sure what i meant but you are right. i still think free can be a solid player but fans get a burr up their hiney about some players and never let it go. for those saying free sucked last night, hell, he was only in for 1 series.
