No, since the article clearly says he is not eligible for the Supplemental Draft. He is an Unrestricted Free Agent.

he is a free agent. not a draftable player. we could sign him but i don't see it with weems on the team. you would have to keep him on the roster and i'm not sure we will carry 5 ot's. i don't remember us carrying 5 ot's very often over the years

Yes, according to the article. Any bonus would be limited due to the rookie pool; however, they can guarantee his contract like they did with Leary. They did manage to keep Leary on the Practice Squad for awhile.

Never thought I'd see the day where a player from where I went to undergrad was being discussed on this forum.

Of course when I went there, they were downright pitiful after having just made the jump to D1.

He's big and athletic according to the article...if we were to give him a shot and he showed that he could play in the big leagues why not. We bring in camp fodder every year why not bring in some with potential lol.

I am curious to see what happens with this guy. The article seems to hype him up as a highly draftable prospect. In what hypothetical round, I have no idea. He's either talented and will get snapped up by some team that gives him a nice bonus or guarantees, or it was just a reporter's spin and we'll never hear about him again. If he's for real, I'd like to see us get him.

It says he's worth a 5th or 6th rd pick, which means he's a little bit of a project. But he can be serviceable by 2014, and maybe a starter by 2015 if coached up properly. I'd say give it a shot if he would be willing to sign with Dallas
