Any guards out there worth getting now?

Waters - may be less motivated then even Moore was. Hangartner does not seem like much of an upgrade. Anyone know anyone else available worth getting?

The fact that they went after Moore shows they believe they need one at least.

I doubt we go for another big name guard (or medium name, idk how well known Moore is). We just signed Dennis Godfrey for OG, so I think we'll continue to churn the bottom of the roster and look for hidden gems there.

We actually now have decent depth at OG. Leary and Moore as starters with Livings (likely gone, however), Bernadeau, Cook, and Arkin as backups.

EDIT: Didn't see that Moore re-retired. Disregard everything I said.

I think it's Waters or nothing at this point. Very disappointed Moore decided to retire.

I am disappointed as well. But as training camp finishes up, we will surely see some camp casualties that could be potential upgrades. Just have to wait.

been looking online to see what is available and it is very depressing. waters is probably it as regards getting someone better then what we have now. Frankly not sure we can find anyone out there right now even as good as what we have got. That is really sad.

If you look closely, it does not seem like there are many teams in the league is stacked enough at the position to allow anyone to get cut who would conceivably be an upgrade.

What about Shawn Andrews, who played for the Eagles. I saw him a month or so ago working out and he looked great. He said sometimes he wishes he was still playning but sometimes he's happy he is no abusing his body. Looked to be in great shape.

No thanks. I don't want a guy who isn't sure he even wants to be playing. That is absolutely not the sort of player I want in my locker room. Particularly with how impressionable this team always seems to be.

I'd give Deuce Lutui a workout.. . He used to be above average and would be a better backup than Arkin, Berdaneau, or Livings

I'd kick the tires on either Cooper Carlisle or Deuce Lutui for the vet minimum.

Good thought. Welcome aboard!

Hangartner?

apparently the cardinals brought him in and decided to pass.

The Cardinals "recently discussed" free agent G/C Geoff Hangartner, but "decided to pass."
It's the first we've heard of Hangartner since his release last Thursday. Hangartner is versatile along the interior, but was a sub-replacement level player last season. He should latch on somewhere in short order, but will have his work cut out to make a 53-man roster. Aug 6 - 3:06 PM

people wanting to keep dinner down?

In a thread with Justin Boren and Shawn Andrews references in it? Unlikely. My gorge is dancing around just thinking about it.

Is Holland out of the league? Question what s
Thats what I want to know. I don't care what anyone says he played some good games for us 2 years ago.

Have to admit, Holland crossed my mind too. However, while he played OK (when not injured) I don't think he fits the OL scheme now, didn't Denver run a zone scheme which ultimately led to his release and original pickup for Dallas?
