He will say ... "I wouldn't change a thing. I would play it the same way again. Players make the plays ... coaches just put them in position to win."
He won't take any responsibility for the conservative play calling on both ends. Just once, I would like to see us have a high scoring offense. When was the last year we had a high scoring offense? It's been so long, I can't even remember.
This is exactly what inflicted this team last year..BP wanting to prove his way of winning with running the ball and using the QB as a busdriver will get it done.
It will not. The defense was on the field WAY WAY TOO LONG in the second half. They got tired.
You could see it. By the middle of the 4th QT..there was no pressure unless Roy Williams came on the blitz.
The front 3 or 4 were hanging their tongues out. Brunell carved us up when he had time.
There is one thing this team will not do as long as BP is coach. And that is win consistantly. You can not go into games each and every week trying to keep your QB in a choke hold to repress mistakes.
You can't go in trying to minimize mistakes by not taking any risks with taking your shots downfield.
When we did, we were open big with Glenn.
But we stopped doing it..did it only once or twice.
Otherwise, we spent the rest of the offense perfecting the swing pass and the handing off or throwing out of bounds.
You could tell Bledsoe was beside himself several times with what he was being asked to execute. If we aren't going to play to Bledsoe's strengths and throw the ball downfield, bench him and bring in Henson or Romo and go ahead and call a plain vanilla offense and make them busdrivers to prove yourself right.
But if you are going to pay Bledsoe the big money and keep his confidence on the field, play the game he can win with. Not play a game where he has to be afraid of making mistakes. or how about letting Bledsoe call his own plays..?
What a concept..? A QB who's thrown for 40,000+ yards. Think he knows how to call plays better than Parcells or Payton..?
After tonight I think he should be given the job.
BP and Payton stunk 2-nite.
Mistakes come with big reward also. You have to run the risk of Bledsoe making mistakes if you are going to also reap rewards from when he succeeds.
It's pretty clear to me that BP must be very suspect of the defense to be playcalling this way. More than he's admitting.
And their collapse this week and near collapse last week sure is enough proof to me that we got lot's of problems, folks. I beleive BP when he said last week we have concerns.
And some of them still revolve around the HC and what he's bound and determined to do regardless what really needs to be done. I just think BP is living in the past with this wanting to resurrect his past successes in this team.
He still hasn't got a handle on what it does well enough to get an identity we can hang a hat on.
Other than we are a 6-10 team still. Any dreams of playoffs and a better record for this year need some very cold water splashed in it's face.
We are not a good team. We proved it once again tonight.
