T Bright is on our PS.

He's 6-4, around 320 lbs, out of BYU.

Last year, in the various rankings, publications, rookie ratings, etc. he was also evaluated fairly well.

I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on him? I haven't heard much on him, but I do remember reading that he's tough and strong and has good potential as an OG.

The rumor is they like him a lot. Aggressive with a mean streak. I think they are looking at him at G/C. He could potentially unseat Proctor. That's the skinnie anyway.

He looked really athletic at the combines last year.(VJ and cone drills) Nice guy to try and develop. NFL.com should still have the combine clips.

Good, I like mean OL. It's such a brutal position to play so a mean streak on the field is quite useful.

I heard the coaching staff thought he showed some potential last year in camp.

I was surprised the Skins with all of their OL problems didn't take him from the practice squad last season.

Looking at his nfl.com draft profile, Bright basically finished atop all the events at the combine last year. I knew the coaching staff liked his work last summer but i never knew he was such a good athlete. In fact if you read his draft player analysis, his write-up is in complete contrast to his performance at the combine.

Yeah, I couldn't believe how wrong all the write-ups were on him either.

That isn't uncommon at all, and it's why so many of these internet draft guru reports are worthless. When they're talking about a lesser-known player, they usually just make crap up.

He did 34 reps(2nd best of the OL) at the combine and also had a 35.5 vj (best of the OL)

wonder how he didn't get drafted?

maybe it was his (somewhat) advanced age when he declared?

Probably some other draft crap - you see how it's been, and I've mentioned it in other threads. These draft "gurus" look at a guy's wingspan, vertical leap, 40-time, etc, but they ignore the most important stat/question of all: can he play?

To be fair, a lot of players don't play as fast as they do in shorts.

Caught him in a few BYU games on tv. Mountain of a man. Slow of foot but should be perfect for OG though.

Any word on his progress on the PS?

Sounds like Bright might be one to keep our eye on this summer. It would be nice for someone like him to just show up and start throwing people around like Larry Allen did.

Strength was supposed to be his thing. Quickness/athleticism was not.

That could be fairly accurate, but it appeared to me he showed a good understanding of the game, which might have helped him overcome any deficiences. He showed his power, but also was in a good position to counter defenders' quickness. I think his football smarts impressed the coaches as much as his strength.

I liked him better than the other more highly regarded UDFA OL that the Cowboys signed. What the heck was that other guy's name?

And are the Cowboys really grooming Bright at center? Bright looks like a pure mauling OG to me.

Greg Isdaner OG 6'4" 325 West Virginia - but he was only 6-3

It is rare to see an underclass offensive lineman declare for the NFL Draft, as many feel they need the four years in college to learn the blocking techniques and let their body mature, but Isdaner is one of those rare breeds. After starting 37 of 39 games during his career and graduating after just three-and-a-half years, the unquestioned leader of the Mountaineers' front wall feels he is ready to tackle the professional ranks.

A big, physical lineman who takes advantage of his strength, Isdaner is also a highly intelligent athlete, having garnered WVU Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll accolades. Academic success is nothing new for the West Virginia left offensive guard, as he attended The Episcopal Academy, a prep academic factory that develops Ivy Leaguers much like the Mountaineer program manufactures professional football players
