Any interest in Dwight Freeney?

I just can't see it. That signing would be against everything the team has been doing.

They are:

*Staying away from older "has been" type players.

*Staying away from any contracts that can result in dead cap dollars when the player's game falls off a cliff.

*Trying to keep younger, hungry guys who are less likely to have injuries and more likely to play hard for 4 quarters.

A move like this just hasn't been the MO since Garrett took over.

In his prime, D. Freeney was quicker off the snap than anyone I have ever seen. He was phenomenal. However, he is now a sneeze away from an injury and his quickness is half of what it once was off the snap.

No thanks.

I loved his spin move. The best I've ever seen.

F. Regarding his age, we wouldn't be signing him long term, and for what he could offer us, at the right spot I think he would be a good fit. Remember passing on Julius peppers last year. Probably cost us a super bowl. Not only would we have had a better pass rush, but he wouldn't have been there to strip Murray after beating Martin to the inside.

Passing on Julius Peppers did not cost Dallas a trip to the Superbowl. It was wise to pass on him. The Packers are now taking a $12 million cap hit to have Peppers on their roster another year older, not another year better.

Sign Freeney now. There is no such thing as saving reps for the younger guys at DE. This is not QB, this is a position that works be with fresh rotations of rushers all game.Freeney is a perfect mentor and may have something left in the tank as a situational PR.Smart Syracuse guy too_Orange is the new Black!

Yeah It didn't necessarily cost us a trip to the Super Bowl but......there's no Murray fumble(on a great play by Peppers) and Rogers two late TD drives did cost us a chance at the SB.
