Saw a group of mocks that had him going at 9 to Beefalo and 12 to the Giants.

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/mock-drafts

Yet there was one where he went to the Ravens after Dallas.

So what if...

Donald is gone.

Zach martin is gone.

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is gone.

And Mike slips.

Can you imagine the offense with Evans and Dez, and TWill coming out of the slot?

I know, this team needs defense. And there could be plenty of time to fill that need. Especially if Ware hauls butt and they save a ton of money. FA could fill a need and maybe even retain Hatcher.

I really like offense, but that is beside the point.

So, any interest? Or is this a trade down scenario, which pouts my feet to sleep because of the notion you get two god players instead of one.

Go with the draft board, but I wouldn't object. WR isn't exactly a need, but it would instantly upgrade the offense. I'm guessing a trade down would be more likely though.

He and Dez could be effective together, but the thing is this team has glaring weaknesses on defense, and that's putting it mildly. If Donald is gone, there are other D linemen that will be available to help this team. The Frederick pick was a smart one last draft, even though some screamed about it. It gave us an upgrade immediately right where we needed it. We need a similar kind of upgrade on the D line. You don't win in this league without a good pass rush. I for one am tired of the historically bad defense and don't want to go another season with it. I suspect many other Cowboys fans feel the same.

I don't think Ha Ha would be gone by 16, but I would much rather have Evans than him. IMO Evans is going to be a weapon.

I think there will be better players at 16 for Dallas though.

I'm certain they do. And there never is a consensus here.

Ware's leaving could free up a great deal of money.

While I don't know the status on all FA, this is a good list to peruse.

There is some talent there. And you know the team will maneuver the cap.

I know it's a long shot, but I find the idea intriguing if you address some of the other needs via FA.

I am not a draft-nik. So what will be will be. Just tossing something out to talk about.

After watching Alshon Jeffery play this year, yes I do want Evans. Over Haha, Pryor, Jernigan etc. wouldn't mind a trade down if someone really wanted to jump the ravens for him though.

Evans is pretty high on my board and I'd much rather land a great value in Evans than reach for a defensive lineman. Of course, if Evans did fall, we'd probably get a few trade offers.

So far. We need a future QB. We need a another RB to replace Murray. And now we need another WR to compliment Dez and TWill. I say we cover all in the 1st 3 rounds. And OL in rounds 4-5. We can address defense in rounds 6-7. Our d will be set for the next 10 years.

Terrance Williams actually has comparable measurables to Jeffery:
Alshon: 6'3 216lbs, 4.48 forty;
2012 stats: 367 yds, 3 TDs, 24 recepts

TWill: 6'2 200lbs, 4.48 forty;
2013 stats: 736 yds, 5 TDs, 44 recepts

TWill had a superior rookie year and we just brought in a pass happy O coordinator. It's fair to argue that we might have our own Alshon Jeffery already.

I was on the Mike Evans train....... until the combine and he ran a 4.65 40yd. We need somebody w/ speed that can stretch a defense. And your gonna laugh...But I question his hands. He sure didn't look very smooth running the guantlet.

I don't see T Will playing in the slot.

Adding Evans seems like we would be benching TWill except when we run with 4 WRs. Very, very inefficient draft move , imo.

The marginal return would not be anywhere near what we would want for a 1st rounder.

Then again, if he was at the top of our board at the time and we couldn't trade down, I guess you go for it.

You might have a point except for the fact that Evans ran a 4.5.
