Talking to you is pointless I haven't said over pay anyone or backload contracts. I'm talking about bringing in guys with talent you obviously can't understand that. Welcome to ignore. First person to make that list.

LOL

They have already done that at least twice since 95 how many times does this franchise need to "rebuild" to get it right?

Not that I recall. They gutted the defense once when switching to a 34, and are having to do the same thing again now. They've never torn down and rebuilt though.

Dang bro ... Take a deep breathe

Lmao... Thank goodness I wasn't drinking anything when I read your response to that drivel. My lovely Note 3 would be a bundle of ruined electronics.

I feel like Melton wants to be in Dallas, and obviously we want him here. But he's going to keep answering that phone while on his visit and the price tag will climb. He'll leverage us into a great situation for himself, but ultimately I think it gets done.

.@HenMel 'official' day w #cowboys is done - but Melton still w team bosses. Hmm. I'm told vibe is 'positive'

He is going to sign. Agreement tonight announced tomorrow watch, Then bring in Allen and get that done

I almost feel like Allen's visit may get cancelled if we agree with Melton tonight. I'm with ya though... this thing gets done overnight. No way we spent all day with our supposed #1 FA target and let him walk out a non-Cowboy. Remember the Carr recruitment? Took a bit longer than expected, but that was always going to happen as well.

He ain't signing here. There isn't much left out there. Our counter parts are adding pieces yet we are adding castoffs. There is not direction with this club now or for the future. I'm sorry but I still fail to see JGs vision for this club. What have a bunch of backups on defense as starters and a 34 year old QB coming off back surgery? Geez man I could see the direction if they signed a couple of solid starters and drafted a QB and defense in the draft. But there is no direction and JG is an absolutely failure of a coach and the old man is on board with tanking this franchise down. Hey JJ you have a chance to draft the QB for the next 12 years and your letting the trainee show no direction. SMH

You fail to see JG vision....do I have to remind you that this is Jerry's world. Jason is the coach for this year only. Jerry has the final say in all matters Cowboys.

If the F.O. has finally learned from past mistakes - they Cannot sign Allen ! Can understand the Melton interest, and I believe he would be a good signing. As long as it's about 3 years for not stupid money. Allen. I would be even more disapointed with the approach they seam to be taking, but then panic and take an older expensive player - whats the point ?
Sign Melton to a mid-level contract, give him plenty of incentives to prove he's healthy again. Go after either Donald, and move Melton to the 1 tech. Or Jernigan and put him at the 1 beside Melton (if Donald is gone). Maybe pick up an Ayers DE and draft one in the second. Pick up another DT in 3rd or 4th (Reid or Daquan Jones). If we are gonna go cleaning up all the dead money/bad contracts then they can't sign Allen for the same said contract - it makes no sense. Still think we already have our SDE in house, and with Selvie and a high (2nd round) pick we would be in better shape. No to Allen. Yes to Melton. And move onto the draft - stick with the plan they have obviously started with the cutting of Ware and Hatcher. Oh, and Spencer on a cheap prove it deal just for depth if they can pull it off ...
Yep, ditto to absolutely everything you said here. Nice post.

I'm surprised nobody has talked about his arrest in December following a fight with a bartender. In Texas nonetheless.

Melton is not that old but the injury is what concerns me more than age if the bank is not going to break get him signed then try to get J.Allen and a smart defensive draft and steps in the right direction are being taken and that in and of it self shows me somethings are changing for the better i hope

Well, he might sign tonight but most are not going to be happy tomorrow when they hear the particulars. If you think he's going to sign a mid-level contract then I have some goat land in west Texas I'd like to sell you. There are 3 maybe more teams all vying for his services and his agent is going to milk the teat for all it can bear. Just watch and see. Oh, Allen is not going to sign with the Cowboys for any less than DWare got in Denver, bank it!!!!

Anybody guess what Minny wants Melton for? With Floyd and Linval Joseph, Melton would be in a rotation, right? Or are they going to look to bench Floyd already?

Allen won't get a deal that matches Ware's from anybody, I don't think. He's looking at 2 years, $16M or so.

You must be joking...He has more sacks than Ware in the last 3 years and has a much better injury history. He also has more QB pressures than DWare. He's already said that if he doesn't get his number he would just retire. He's not gonna play for chump change.
