I was just wondering if anyone had seen anything on him. I don't know why but I've very intrigued by him. With the news that Glenn is returning to practice, I'm just thinking that if/when he starts playing, he could possibly be our next Glenn or at least a slot guy who runs the underneath routes and makes people miss, like a bigger Welker.

I'd like to see him get some time these last couple of weeks.

I am, too, though I'm thinking next TO or next Irvin. Silly, given his draft status and the fact that he hasn't played much at all his rookie season, but Ireland is so high on him. Can you imagine if the new triplets end up being a 4th round running back, a 4th round WR and an undrafted FA QB?

Side note: I was surprised to hear earlier in the year in one of the Inside the Huddle broadcasts that Stanback was friends with Deion Anderson.

Even though Stanback has the physical tools for the WR spot, he's still so raw that I have a feeling Valley Ranch is really just hoping that he will be ready to contribute at the WR spot next year. Of course they would like to see him contribute sooner, but I doubt that they have any realistic expectations of him before next year though.

Hes been active on gameday a few times but really wtih Glenn coming back hes not going to see the light of day. Next TC, i imagine hes going to give Hurd and Austin a run for their money.

Weve seen flashes of his hands but his strongest virtue was his playmaking in the open field. He is going to be a RAC monster.

I wish there were a way to get him some snaps, too...

Isn't it strange to have too many good players to activate them all?

Whats with the infatuation over Stanback?

All season long different threads have popped up..

All we need to worry about right now is WhiteChocolate and Tony Romo.

We already know what Witten and Owens are AllPro material. This guy could be and stories fo development are so much more compelling.

I'll be surprised if Stanback make the Active List again.

Austin is playing well.

...takes a drafted WR a few years to catch onto the NFL game. It may take this kid some time to get ready to play.

I'm just hoping he can contribute on special teams sooner than later. I'll hold my breath on the WR experiment for now.

I suspect Stanback needs at least another year to be a good WR. But that doesn't stop him from having an occasional big play. If TG and TO can continue to play at a very high level then it will be a dogfight for WR3. He probably has the physical skills to outplay Crayton and Miles. Hurd is a different kind of WR.

We've come a long way baby.

I think Stanback has what it takes but like some of you said hes just to raw right now. The threat that he adds with not only his speed but also his arm. We've all seen how Randle El in the superbowl and Randy Moss last week throwing the ball.

He has a cannon, and can deffinately heave the ball down field I saw a video of a hail mary like 75 yards to the end zone hitting him in stride, as well as 60+ yard quarterback draws up the middle untouched making like 4 people miss this man is a physical specimen he's not a Matt Jones. This man will be able to burnnnn corners. Hes a bigger more physical Welker with a rocket arm IMO. Cant wait to see this man on the field.

Going into next season roster spots at the reciever position are going to be tight with Owens, Glenn, Crayton (if resigned), Austin, Hurd, Stanback and especially if we draft a wideout or bring in a free agent. It'll be interesting especially with Hurd and Austin coming on.

When I saw him on the field doing drills, he stood out the most of all players. But it's hard to tell unless they're actually in action. After the warm up, he remained on the sideline for the remainder of the game. But I'm a Stanback fan. I just think that we have too many receivers at this point in time--which is a good thing!! On another interesting note, Sam Hurd was open all game on almost every play. Sometimes Romo didn't see him -- others the play broke down or he was the last on the read progression.

But Hurd is going to develop into a good receiver before too long.

I see us employing some 4 and 5 wr sets in the near future. Maybe some surprise packages in the playoffs. NOT as a full time thing - I mean you don't want to take witten off the field very often but as a situational/surprise, I think it would be great: Speed:Owens,Austin,Stanback Hands:Crayton,Hurd. MMMM cant help but drool at the possibilities.
