Any personnel changes this week?

The most obvious one seems to be quarterback. I would love to see what we've got in Kellen Moore. What do we have to lose at this point? Hell, I wouldn't even mind going back to Weeden, and I was one of his biggest critics. Yesterday was one of the most inept offensive performances I've ever witnessed.

Anybody think we see any personnel changes this week?

Weeden is not an option. Once you pull him, you can't just go back. The only way he sees the field again is if Cassel gets injured.

This coaching staff if not going to change QBs again. This is a very risk adverse coaching staff. So that should say something that they actually benched Weeden.

You don't bench Cassel now with a huge division game coming.

  1. Pull Wilcox and start Jones.
  2. Pull Street and go with Butler.
  3. If Beasley is so utterly unable to productive with backup QBs, put someone else there
  4. Put anybody else at PR than Beasley
  5. Consider bumping Hardy to DT (remove Hayden or T. Crawford) a bit more and getting Mincy on the field a bit more. The team needs more pass rush and the Hayden/Crawford are cutting it.

Crawford has been such a massive disappointment for me. He and Hayden, when the rubber met the road yesterday, got pushed around by a mediocre Seattle OL.

clean the slate, start over, get the white board ready with blue chips at the QB and RB position...put every back up in the rest of the season to gauge how they face up in today's NFL...

I think I'd prefer seeing Hitchens in there in the nickel package instead of McClain

 for most but.........

5. Hardy stays at DE where he should be. If anything it is Mincey that would go inside. He loves it there.

They will give Cassell at least one more because they have Weeden 3. I'm ready to try something different. Can't get any worse.

I would activate Chaz Green from PUP. Free is really struggling. If Brown can't steal few series from a really bad RT then its time to explore our options.

I was surprised he was inactive. That took away one of our bigger receivers, one who I think can beat press coverage. Yet we continued with the inexplicable concept of pretending Lucky Whitehead is another Dwayne Harris.

Seattle had 13 points and Lynch averaged 3.4 ypc so idk what you're talking about.

Weeden would have been just as bad vs Seattles secondary.

Pull Wilcox and start Jones
Jones already played as many snaps as Wilcox in the Giants game and played 97% of the snaps in the Pats game. In the Seahawks game Jones had to play as the slot CB I assume because White has a knee problem.

Pull Street and go with Butler.
Butler had more hamstring issues in practice last week.

Beasley played 49% of the snaps last week. Street has played 44% for the season. Butler had a hamstring issue this week. It seems that all receivers have issues with the backup QBs.

Put anybody else at PR than Beasley
They would have to add a player to replace Beasley on PR. They don't yet trust Lucky. I think they want him to get more relaxed as an NFL player before putting him on PR. I prefer what ever is the least risk of a turnover. They didn't get much return yardage last year on punt returns, IIRC.

Consider bumping Hardy to DT (remove Hayden or T. Crawford) a bit more and getting Mincy on the field a bit more. The team needs more pass rush and the Hayden/Crawford are cutting it.
More Hardy at DT might be good against some teams but the Seahawks were probably not one of those teams. They needed bulk to play against Marshawn Lynch. I would keep Hardy at whatever spot he is most effective and work the remaining DL lineup around that. Maybe try Mincey at DT on occasion if they prefer to keep Hardy at DE.

I don't think Garrett will ever replace Free. The front office will have to cut him if they want Garrett to use another player at RT. Garrett put Free back in the lineup last season after he missed some games with an injury and his backup far outplayed him in his absence.
