Funny though, they have all these problems and will still end up with a winning record.
You have to give the devil his due.
Agreed, Michael -
The birds have a good coach and an excellent system and have been knocked out in the conference championships three years running, now and they're not any better this year than they were last year, overall. Yea, they have picked up a couple of high-visibility, high-motor players, but has that been enough to offset the loss of the experienced cornerbacks and the injuries to Kalu and their RB? Last year the Eagles overcame the adversity of a slow start, including an embarrassing loss to the 'Pokes, is this the year they shed the bridesmaid's veil and stride boldly up the aisle as the bride, or is this the year they don't even make it to the church?
Even if the birds are not as good as they were, are the 'Boys improved enough to make up the difference this year? I think maybe so.
TO may be a jerk, but he is a superb receiver and big and fast enough to make a difference; I think he'll vastly improve Philly's offense and will give McNabb someone he can play catch with when he is running around outside the pocket - that's when you really find out what playmakers are all about. Kearse will enliven their DL and be a vocal leader. The teams will be more evenly matched this year than in the last few years.
This season just keeps getting better.
