Exactly. Garrett never said that he would be head coach and offensive coordinator; he said he would be handling role of offensive coordinator (which I took to mean he will call the plays).


From what I remember, Garrett never officially said his job title was hc/oc

I thought I read recently where JG said that he realized the difficulties in being the HC and the OC at the same time and that he would definitely get an OC on the staff. Not that he won't be the one calling the plays, but...

There will be someone on the staff with the OC title, they just won't be calling the plays. Whoever Garrett brings in to be his right hand man on offense will get the OC title so that he cannot be hired away as an OC by another team.

I would actually like to see JG bring in some one younger as our OC. That way he can mentor and develop this person. Kind of like Shanahan did with Kubiak.
