I was a bit surprised that the Skins were able to get the Jags this weekend. I did not think the Jags were as good as everybody was making them out to be but they did beat us fair and square. Still, the Skinz put up numbers against them pretty easily I thought. A bit surprising to me.

well in my opinion the crap call by the refs changed the tone of that game completely. actually the refs in that game were really bad across the board

It's amazing to me that the Jags didn't cover the dump off passes. Brunell did throw a couple nice balls down field but 97% of his throws are 5 yards or less. Didn't they watch the Texans game? And props to the skins for the pass protection they gave MB. But Portis is their offense. The skins played a heck of a game, especially on offense.

The Skins arent as bad as they looked earlier. They are a different team with Portis healthy. They keep everything short and run portis. They are a good team.

I am not too surprised about the Commanders' victory. Every dog must have its day. I am surprised at how many points the Jaguars allowed them to put up on the scoreboard.

In the previous three games against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Colts and us, Jacksonville allowed 38 points combined. Washington almost equalled that in five quarters. Was this a genuine display of a scoring explosion or did they catch Jacksonville at the right moment? I expect that the Jaguars will not allow another 30+ point game the rest of the year and that this was probably a fluke game for them.

I couldn't watch the game, I just caught part of it on the radio, so I'm not the best informed about how they did. That said, 3 big reasons:

1) They suck noticably less with Portis back.

2) Home field advantage is always a plus.

3) When we played Jax, the biggest thing that went against us was Bledsoe having a horrible game. They were very beatable if his throws weren't so badly off due to the mystery back injury or whatever was the reason for that.

Obviously they're a better team with Portis, and they're starting to get the new offense figured out. However, the Jaguar defense I watched playing Washington looked nothing like the Jaquar defense that played us or Indianapolis. They looked lethargic, and simply gave the game away towards the end, which was a shame really, because their offense was destroying the Skin's defense.

I didn't get to watch the game, but did see the OT.

Props to the foreskins, they are a better team with Portis.

Though Brunell should give Moss a portion of his paycheck each week. :lmao2:

Since we played the Jags, along the defensive line they have one great player out for the season another great player hurting with an ankle injury and a third who I believe didn't play (Wiley). Tough going for what was the strength of the defense.

That said, the skins were able to pressure the QB and we weren't.

I didn't see much pressure when I watched, and even if there was much pressure it was worthless because Leftwich had an incredible day. 21/35, 289 yrds, 3 TDs. He even came through when it counted at the end of the game, putting up two scoring drives to tie the game. It was the Jags defense that lost that game. Maybe it was injuries or maybe they were just tired. Either way, the Jags defense played horribly.

Nice win by the Commanders, give them credit.
I'm with you. The Texans were just what the doctor ordered for a floundering team needing to get the Saunders offense off the ground and this home game gave them a chance to sort of get much needed repetition. I hope I'm wrong but the Skins offense may be for real -- or at least when they're not committing penalties, not injured, and Brunell's not stinking up the joint. We haven't seen the end of those problems but in general they may be on to something.

Well, I have not read all the posts from yesterday or today, but, I'm sure that somewhere there must be a post from a RedStink that says, since the Jags beat the Cowboys, and the RedStinks beat the Jags, then that proves that the RedStinks are better then the Cowboys...

You know, RedStink logic...

Moss and Portis are two of the best in the league. If they play well they give the Commanders a shot.

Still surprised that they tagged the Jags for so many points though.

I still think the skins are a good team. I also think brunnell holds them back a little.

They played an outstanding game yesterday. I think there are som things that go into this win though, first they are on the road for the second straight week, coming off an emotional loss against their biggest rivals the colts and finally reggie hayward is out and matt jones didnt play the second half of game.

The skins in my opinion caught the jags at the right time and then played well and won. It is way too early inb the year to start declaring anyone a good or bad team, IMO.

I actually had money on the Skins. My thought was that Jacksonville has played a brutal schedule and is beat up and is playing their second road game in a row. Plus, the Skins play well at FedEx. I was surprised to see the game be so high scoring.
