Anybody see Stephen Jones say "thats all on the coach" when that playclock jumped from 40-25?

You realize that the majority of the good coaches in the league do go ballistic there, or at least ask the refs to explain what happened. Yes the refs blew it big time, but Garrett blew it also.

Garrett had the deer in the headlights look.......................he was not all there tonight.

Jerry will make a couple of speeches about how things are going to be uncomfortable and then do jack.............................same as last year.

There were plenty of changes made last year. You just want to rail on Jerry some more.

I forgot about the scapegoats..................yea, Ryan was shown the door while Mr. "Coach In Training" had more games to botch.................LOL

I wonder who the scapegoats will be this year while our Head Coach learns on the job for another year?

Wonder if thats going to play a part in this offseason. Jerry looked pissed tonight. That shot of him after that Orton int was something i havent seen from Jerry.

Screw jerry. He's a punk.

I call bs. A coach can't ask the refs to check the clrock after a delay. Nor should you expect he's there watching every play to make sure the clock goes to 40 every time.

If ever any call was all on the refs it was that one. Every man on that crew should have said "wait...that was really quick." Refs blew that. Garrett blowing a gasket on the sidelines would have accomplished nothing

Maybe he should have winked and smiled at the refs like he did to Witten. :)

Two things stand out from last nights game that really calls home the fact that JG just does not have a thread of situational awareness.
#1 - He knew he was going to kick a FG at the end of the half but still took the time out with 39 secs on the clock. Every other coach in the NFL runs that clock down to at low as he can let it go and then calls the TO.
#2 - The play clock problem. Every other coach in the NFL calls the Ref over and asks for an explanation. Would it have made a difference? Probably not, but the point is that he didn't even ask. I am willing to bet he didn't even notice.

Granted, these two of many situations did not effect the game, but they point out his biggest flaw.

I really hope what you mentioned does not go overlooked. I was going to start a thread and point out these EXACT 2 things. I am HOPING the Dallas media does not let him off the hook on BOTH instances. On the first one....Micheal and Collinsoworth were so clueless they did not hammer this point home. And instead of them wondering WHY Garrett was not DEMANDING an explanation..the just rail on the refs...who screwed it up in the first place. The truth is Garrett was a head coach in training when Jerry hired him. I do not care where he went to college or how highly paid he was. Jerry is very naive when it comes to things like this. He looks at the fact that Garrett went to Princeton and every chance he got he reminded us how smart Garrett is. And over the course of 4 years....it is obvious he is not very football smart at all. The second thing Jerry does is he ASSUMES (there is nothing with expecting).....but he ASSUMES that when he pays someone a lot of money, they will be highly productive, they will be indestructible, and they will play at a high level for a long time.

The truth is...Garrett had never called plays in his LIFE at any level before getting the Cowboys job. It showed early on...and it is still showing.

I hope it means a big change. Today was a telling day. The players showed up. I havent seen them play a better game in years effort-wise today. But the focal point should be the coaching situations. And the bad spots JG puts his team in during games. 2 questionable 4th down calls. Run game disappearance again. I know the eagles were stiffening up against the run but it was still working. Today was a prime example of why JG is not a good HC.

Amen brother ! Garrett has to go!

I just mentioned this in another thread. Jerry has never been visibly angrier. Was does it mean? Time will tell.

I think it meant that he knew a camera was on him & so he was going to huff & puff & look all mad to make it look like he is not happy.

Then of course he goes into the hall & tells a reporter they are training Jason & he just cannot let another team get that fantastic coach.

The thing about Garrett is, we usually always in position to win it. But we should not be in that position that much. We should just dominate people sometimes. When the playing field is even "same talent basically" Garrett tips the scale towards the loss column. Head to head with other great Coaches, or really good coaches, Garrett is not quite ready. I don't have time to wait personally.

When Wade got fired, we were playing it close up until the Jaguars game and that was because we were in the five loss column. Hilarious thing is, against the Jaguars this offense turned the ball over 4 times. By the Jaguars game, we had 11 TOs in 6 games. If you count the Jaguars game, 15 in 7 games.

If people think Jason wasn't in any way involved in the offensive mess from the very beginning, they are fooling themselves. This was the first year TO, the alleged reason for all our woes, was gone.
