I am not sure if you guys are aware of what happened with the party pass people last night but here is what I posted in another thread.

Lastly I would like to cover some disturbing news I came across. I am not certain if any of you are aware, but there were 30,000 plus party pass tickets sold. However, only 20,000 of those 30,000 were allowed to enter the stadium. There was a fire marshall that indicated the place was at full capacity and no one else could enter. So what am I getting at here? I am telling you, Jerry Jones purposely sold an additional 10,000-15,000 tickets to break the record for tickets sold, knowing darn well those individuals would not be allowed to enter the stadium. I found this very disturbing.

The tickets were sold before the fire marshals contacted the Cowboys about their fire code concerns.

My guess is Jerry didn't care if it was oversold for this first game -- he wanted that record and he was going to get it.

Not to mention the :money:

I took a bunch of pics as well that I'll try to upload later.

I didn't go anywhere near the Party Pass area because it looked like an absolute madhouse.

From my vantage point, I could see all the decks pretty well. Prior to the game starting, they looked reasonably full, then all of the sudden, a huge flood of fans poured into the area, absolutely stuffing all of the decks.

It looked like a mad crush of people. If I had been down there, I'd have been very nervous/uncomfortable. I can't imagine how 80% were able to see anything.

It did make the stadium very loud, though.

For all those who complained about Texas Stadium being quiet, there's no way you could make that same argument about the stadium last night.

There were many many times when it was absolutely deafening in there.

And for the most part, the fans knew when to be loud and when to be quiet for the offense. One complaint I had, though, was that there were times when they would put stuff on the video board that would get the crowd pumped up, but they would put that stuff up there when we are on offense. Some one needs to tell the video board operator how to use the board to our advantage!

The stadium is absolutely amazing, though. I love the video board and the way it fits into the stadium. The size is not a distraction, IMO. I never found myself watching it rather than the play. But it was great to be able to see replays and the like. The sightlines for the stadium are great as well. I'm pretty high up, row 18 in the upper deck, but I didn't feel like I was up too high at all. Still had a great view of all the action.

It was elbow to elbow in the Gate A concourse. Bathrooms were way more crowded than preseason but still WAY better than Texas Stadium. They sold out of Miller Genuine Draft by the end of the 2nd quarter (if that tells you anything). I saw multiple drunks getting escorted out by police. Pretty much crazy nutty atmosphere outside the big sliding doors where they set up some huge screens and a sound system for the party pass people there. We had to wade through the masses there to get to our seats. Lots of people were confused on where to go as can be expected on the 1st game of a new stadium.
The ushers checked my tickets at every door and stairway and did a good job of keeping the party contained to the deck area.

Overall, not a bad idea but Jerry ought to scale back the number of passes sold by 15-20%.

How much was parking?

I parked for "free" at Lincoln Square. You just have to spend $40 at one of the shops/restaurants there.

I saw independent lots going for $40-$50 and even a couple really near the stadium that were charging $80 and even $90.

The funniest one I saw was the Arby's near the stadium. It said if you spent $35 at Arby's you could park there for free. "I'll take 20 junior roast beefs and 15 curly fries, please." :p:

Not sure about the party-pass guys, but I heard the other 80,000 fans in the seats all ended up butt-hurt.

I had a party pass and I enjoyed my experience. It was crowded but I had a great view of the field and the board. Of course I got there early and did my part because I knew it was going to be this way. All in all I thought it was great and if you do a little work on your end the experience was great. However if you showed up an hour before kickoff then yeah it might have been rough. But even then there are like 2000 televisions you could have watched as well.

Hey Rangers71...how early did you get to the stadium and where did you park? I will be going to the Monday Night game and want to be prepared. Thanks so much for any info you can provide!

people were calling the fan today and saying people were urinating in trash cans and bottles so they wouldnt have to leave their spots...and one person called and said there was a couple getting it on...and a few fights and alot of chaos.....people raising hell .........I LOVE IT.....

i was at home watching and at times the crowd was so loud it was drowning out Al and Chris...i definitely see a home field advantage taking shape.........

but in all seriousness they need to cut down on about a third of the party passes....

people complaining cause they couldnt see the field.....really? what did they think they were buying ...i heard Jerry a while back on the fan and he was saying that if you got a good spot you could see if not there would be TVs everywhere and you could still watch but the whole idea was to get fans involved in the party.....i would pay $29 dollars just to hang out all day roaming the tailgaters then i would sit in the grass outside and watch the game on the big screens with other cheering fans.........sounds like a blast to me
