Anyone else believe we would have won AT LEAST 2 of the last five games if Demarco Murray was our running back?

No
And sitting at 2-7 I am still happy he was not resigned. RB's are NOT worth big $$$$ unless you're a rare bread like AP, Gurley or Lynch. But those type of RB's are rare and DM is not on that level.

Nope. They both aren't doing well.

McFadden 130 carries, 494 yds, 3.8 yds/carry
Murray 128 carries, 451 yds, 3.5 yds/carry

Yes. You don't necessarily need Murray. You need someone of similar quality. A lot of people were bringing up concerns of leaving the running game to McFadden and Randle.

Maybe if we had an automatic chain mover like Murray, we wouldn't be throwing the ball ten yards down the field to Dez on 3rd and 1 and we could actually extend drives like last year and let the offense close games out.

Cowboys #9 Rank Rushing

Falcons game:
245 total yards, 6.0 ypc, 4 TDs

Giants game:
245 total yards, 5.7 ypc, 1 TD

Seahawks game:
178 total yards, 4.3 ypc

Patriots game:
176 total yards, 4.3 ypc

Eagles game:
139 total yards, 4.6 ypc

Doesn't seem like the problem..

Terrible QB play, 2 TD's gave away in OT, dumb penalties, clutch drops, untimely turnovers, lack of turnovers, lack of scoring from the turnovers we do create, bad coaching decisions are the reasons we're 0-7 without Romo.

Murray would have fallen victim to the same defensive strategy as Randle/McFadden...load up against the run and dare Weeden/Cassell to beat you.

Kind of faced that anyway last season. Every one knew we were going to run. He still managed to be the best RB in the NFL. Granted Romo was playing. lol I still don't think McFadden can handle the load and well most knew Randle was a waste of space.

No and i hope everyone realizes this a qb driven league. The QB is the most important player. Look at peyton manning and the broncos. They have a great D, good special teams ect but the game goes how the QB goes.

If we had Murray Romo would not have been injured in the first place.

If we had Murray he would have been in there to block on 1st down when Romo got injured. He was a best blocker from the RB position last year and would have probably picked up the blitzer coming in from the middle.

Secondly, if we had Murray we might have just ran the ball on that 1st down situation where Romo got injured. Romo got injured because we decided to pass where we should have just ran the ball. We would have probably ran the ball during that situation just like what we did in 2014.

These are just my hypothesis so don't burn me at the stake.

I don't think Romo would have been injured if we had Murray. Therefore, our season would probably not gone down the tube.

The Cowboys should just have continued with what worked in 2014. Don't fix what isn't broken. The FO ruined our run game with RBBC concept. That didn't work and started a snowball effect which lead to Romo being injured. Thus we are where we are right now.
