Anyone catch what Dez said after the game?

Mike loved the camera, the attention, and all that before he had 3 rings.

It's hilarious for people to act like Irvin suddenly became like he was after winning. He was that way from the beginning. He didn't wait till he won to be that way.

He won 2 rings in college too.

Missed it. I love Dez. But I thought he was throwing up signs and posturing to the camera a little too much for my taste. Say one thing, and leave it at that.

He was doing that because of that d-bag on the other team (Beckham). He pretty much mocked him on his last TD. Can't let some snotty nosed rookie show you up like that.

And it really has no impact on the game. We won and he was excited. Sports are emotional and is a game at the end of the day. Let them be.

I'm letting them be. Nothing I can do about it as a fan watching from my couch. I saw what Odell did--mocking Dez and his X. And I had no problem with Dez retaliating. But the cameraman made sure to lock in on Dez; after all, he was getting some juicy coverage from #88. I guess the good ol days of doing your job and celebrating with your teammates are long gone. Now we're relegated to individualism and doing your best to one-up the next guy.

Again, I'm not down on Dez. I'm one of his biggest backers, and love that he wears the star. It just came off looking a little silly in the grand scheme of it all.

Agreed. I guess us old timers are the only ones who get it lol

we spent YEARS watching giants players dance on our star, disrespect us in the media, just clown us nonstop during games.[/B]

Doesn't make it right.

well it's amazing how the tables have turned. the giants looked lifeless out there on sunday

Not sure what game you were watching, they led us by 11, .. twice.

It's a credit to our kids to be able to take the momentum back and regain the lead. That is not always an easy thing to do in sports.

Classy gets you something you can't buy - respect.

How many people actually respect Kim K no matter how many millions she has?

I have to give you a hand for this. You are right.

But I think in today's world Respect only gets you so far. You are right though, i guess I just always see the nice quite 1's always get looked over/talked about less.

I mean that in regular life, football, entertainment, everything. I agree 100 with you though.

With that said, I love Dez. He's probably my favorite Cowboy. I guess I'm just cut from a different cloth. Perhaps I'm an old fuddy duddy at age 39.

I saw your explanation. Can't knock you for feeling that way, you made some good points.

You're contradicting yourself. Why would you prefer classy if trashy gets results?
What is it about "classy" that you prefer? And if you prefer it even if trashy gets results, why are you lecturing others because they want Dez to act classy and not trashy?

And, by the way, it's not classy or trashy that is getting Dez anywhere. It's his TALENT. If Dez didn't have talent, I don't care if he were classy or trashy, he wouldn't have the opportunity to shine on the stage he has now.

I hear you.

How is Dez being Trashy though? I think the term is getting thrown around too loosely.

I agree with you, but I think he was reacting to the love Odell Beckham was getting because of "The Catch."

Dez is a competitor. He doesn't want to be upstaged by another receiver. So when he catches the game winning touchdown, he's like "Yall celebrating Odell Beckham's catch. Well, celebrate THIS. We won!"

Youthful exuberance. I'm not going to get all bent out of shape over it. (Not suggesting you are either.)

Ding Ding Ding.... we have a winner!!!!

Personally I feel like they should just wait until after he throws up the X then celebrate with him. They know he has to do his thing first. Meantime, they can high five each other or lift Romo in the air, LOL.

That would be fine too, but when guys are running at you to hug and you turn to make your sign, it just seems... kind of out of the regular flow if you know what I mean.

Overall though, either way is fine and we fans, as usual, are making much ado about nothing.

Very good post and along the same lines of what I was thinking.

Here's the thing. It's give and take. These supreme athletes are all different. They release and celebrate in different ways. As long as it's not "too" over the top, I'm ok with it. Dez is an incredible fuse to the Cowboy machine. Football is an extremely physical, intense, competitive and emotional sport. You can't turn off that energy on a dime in the heat of big game. At the end of the day, you tolerate a little Dez showboating. Dez being Dez. Not hurting the team. I'll take it. He's becoming a legendary Cowboy. Let's enjoy it.

He won 2 rings in college too.

And was the same way before he won them. It was part of the attitude he had at Miami and it was always part of him. The only thing is that people accepted it because his teams were winning. He didn't suddenly become that way.

I don't think he was being trashy. Youthful exuberance. Even though I may not have done it, I can understand why Dez would want to posture. He's a competitor. He believes he's the best. And yet here's this young pup making a ridiculous catch and stealing his sign? Yeah, I can understand his response.
