Anyone else as excited for Luke Bryan and Lady Gaga playing this SB?

I see this sentiment a lot.

I'm no fan of Lady Gaga or Luke Bryan, but who else should perform at half-time, honestly?

I liked the marching band idea someone said earlier, but other than that someone is always going to be disappointed.

I'm a rap fan but I would agree with putting Classic rock (like a lot of that too) as a staple over this mush; sounds better live and are known by the majority of Americans. Or the marching bands idea where they to help hosting city's local business/arts; it's a pain in the back to host and helps the local community holding the SB, etc. Incentive to host for most locals is nil.
Rap sounds bad live and is a niche genre despite pushing it as mainstream, just is what it is. I don't know who Luke Bryan is but Lady Gaga is for the ladies watching for the commercials and putting up with game for marketing/cultural reasons; we all watch the SB in the US so gotta give them "some" incentive to put up with it. I meant females as a demographic (and fandom is rising dramatically there too), not the die-hard women posters we have on this site.

I'm sure all the teenage girls that watch the sb will be thrilled.

Halftime show is always trash.

It's great to see the NFL placating a audience who doesn't even watch the sport.

Yes. We don't want the league making any more money now. Millions of additional viewers is what this is about. Fans shouldn't feel like the league owes them anything. You do get to watch the game for free.

Im not looking forward to the Super Bowl at all. Im very disenchanted with the NFL right now and likely wont even watch the game. Crazy coming from someone who loves the NFL and never misses the Super Bowl.

Is this a serious comment?
Nothing is free. The league doesn't owe the fans anything? The people who by watching the games, buying the merchandise, selling out stadiums across the country and funnel billions of dollars into the hands of the league are not owed anything in return by the league?
You may not have a general understand of the economics of the world we live in my friend.

Anything but music. 90% of the population is going to hate whoever they trot out there and we resent any political message the ignorant performer decides to 'enlighten' us with. If the NFL feels the need to entertain fans in the stands let the cheerleaders put on a show or let the mascots duke it out midfield,,, circus clowns,,, Anything but music, please.

I can never get enough of tractor rap, or senseless double digit IQ pop music made for the masses.
You as excited as I am?
Not interested at all. However, I was also not looking forward to Katy Perry's halftime show a few years back. I'm not a fan at all. That thing turned out to be one of the most memorable halftime shows in recent memory. On a bizarreness scale, it was off the charts.
