Hamilton is one of the most successful plays in history. It is and has been the hottest ticket on Broadway for a considerable period. The soundtrack was the third highest selling album last year. The play won a staggering number of awards.
That's a huge audience draw right there.
Yet, you want to attribute the invite to something political? This is a play about patriotic Americans written and performed by patriotic Americans. You should give them credit for that rather than discounting the achievement

Although I did do marching band in high school so I have a found place in my heart for it as well.
