Anyone else as excited for Luke Bryan and Lady Gaga playing this SB?

Those of you who expect to see a raving beauty in Lady Gaga will likely leave themselves prone to coming away disappointed. Those who listen to her performance and exert unbiased attention to her talent might come to appreciate what she has to offer.

If you're one of those who insists upon perpetuating some preconceived notion of her unworthiness, you might best be served by going for a 20 minute walk during halftime. You'll miss a good entertainer and actually, quite talented to boot.

OTOH, keeping an open mind can sometimes provide a quick turnaround for someone who refuses to appreciate a new experience. Try it if you're one of those folks -- you never know, you just might come to enjoy the performance.

I have to correct your error, "double digit IQ" should read "single digit IQ".
Luke Bryan is a total hack and Gaga is a madonna ripoff and so ugly she has to keep her face covered with outlandish costumes.

How is she a Madonna rip off? Because she is blonde and from Manhattan? Her music certainly doesn't sound like "Like a Virgin" or "Vogue." Much higher tempo if nothing else. HEr voice is closer to Cher than the Material Girl.

Most of her original work sounds like 90s house music where she coos over her refrains and breakdowns then cranks it on the return. Led Zeppelin used to do that too. It's a staple of pop music in general.

Her dancing is more like Janet Jackson than Madonna to my eyes.

As for clothing style, Madonna didn't hang props on herself like Ancient Chinese nobility. I just don't see the comparison at all beyond the most facile features. She looks like a David Lynch fan to me.

It's great to see the NFL placating a audience who doesn't even watch the sport.

Fwiw, in the NFLs eyes, the halftime show is for those people who don't watch the sport

I used to get all butt sore or happy about who was going to be playing at the halftime of the superbowl. Would wade into the threads arguing about how this artist or that artist was good or trash and blah blah blah.

I guess I finally hit the age where my mentality has changed to...If I like the artist I will watch, if I don't I will change the channel. It really is that simple for anyone that either likes the artist or does not like the artist.

I couldn't care less about the halftime show. As far as the anthem, just sing it with class and respect. I hate when people try to string out the notes, add extra lyrics, or go rogue on it. Sing with heart and feeling, but sing it with a properness that it deserves as our National Anthem

If you're not old enough to have seen Garth's anthem before SB27 (Cowboys vs Bills)...see if you can find it online. Next to Whitney's performance 2 years earlier, I thought he did it very nicely. Those two were the best IMO...no one else has come close.

Virtually nothing 'Excites' me about this Superbowl since the Cowboys won't be on the field. I'll probably watch the game but will do more important things at halftime such as visit the bathroom.

A while back, there was a 12 year old girl who sang the anthem before the big 12 title game.......she absolutely killed it.....best anthem i ever heard.

Lady Gaga is more in line with the pop music, whereas, it's my understanding that Luke Bryan is a young C&W performer, according to my son. I take it you're something of a C&W fan, huh? That's cool . . .
