the Cowboys would be looking at more LBs before opening day?

I wonder if via a trade or the waiver wire?

Also, what were the opinions on Octavien and V Butler this last game?

I think Carp is fine playing the nickel, and I really like how J Williams is improving. Let's hope he's not going to be out long (hopefully only 2-3 weeks max).

I'd feel a lot more comfortable if we had one more OLB with some experience.

I didn't really notice Butler, but Octavien was all over the place. I think #53 will be a real force for the Cowboy defense if he sees the field.

I thought the opposite, that Butler really showed well. He's improved tremendously from that first week. Not really a surprise for a rookie, but still.

I agree with CL I thought Butler played pretty well last night while Octavian wasn't as productive as he was against the Titans. I think Jason Williams and Victor Butler can both help this team if they can stay healthy.

BTW how exactly did J Williams get injured? I saw him put his head into the pile but never saw what happened. Did he get his ankle rolled up on by someone?

Stephen Jones also mentioned that "Proctor has looked good" so I'm wondering if maybe he was using a little peyote pregame.

I thought Babe's question was kinda dumb -- which VP of Personnel in this League is gonna admit his team's area of need for purposes of watching the waiver wire?

i am sure that wade is going to watch the waiver wire and see if a linebacker or defensive end is released.

wade mentioned that thursday night too.

I thought Butler looked the better of the two as well, but niether impressed me enough last night to think they could play any sort of major role on our defense.

Octavian missed a few tackles as I recall.

I'm wondering if JJ can find a more seasoned back-up somehow? I think we could come up with the extra roster spot various ways, including keeping only 5 WRs or by going with only 2 QBs and placing McGee on the IR. I guess it depends on how desparate the situation is and how much confidence Wade has in V Butler and Octavien.

But I don't think the staff is satisfied at that position right now - and I don't think they can afford any injury at that OLB position for an extended period of time.

I think at the DE position we may be able to stash M Dixon on the PS once again.

I think Dixon had some bad luck with injuries the past few weeks. He hasn't really been able to show what he can do.

I guess the silver lining is that other clubs haven't seen what he can do either. So maybe that helps us get him on the PS.

I heard the rb going into the endzone rolled on to it.

Hopefully S. Jones is not floating the idea around seriously as a means towards elicitng a trade-offer from another team before cuts are made. In other words...hopefully our need at LB is not so "desperate" that we also have the need to adverrtise to fill it.
