Say what you want about declining skills, but he was teaching the right side of our defense about run blocking in the first half.

I think 90% of the Niners yards came behind LA.

He looked good!

Having said that, Kosier played very well in the first half too!

Good that he is still doing well. I can't seem to muster any ill feelings toward LA.

L.A. never should have been cut in the first place...I don't care about the salary.

You see the success we are having on the sweeps and outside runs? We couldn't do that with LA in his current condition.

I won't argue with the outside runs, but I've seen MB3 make a lot of great runs on the inside today. You still can't tell me that a team without Larry Allen is better than a team with Larry Allen. Whether or not he'd accept any backup role is debatable but he still had more to contribute.

Emmitt had more to contribute when he left.

But he sucked.

You can tell a lot about the player by the caliber of team that goes after them and signs them.

And if MBIII is having success running inside today, why exactly do we need a whiff blocker in LA?

Looked at the KC game from last season today while killing some time. I noticed on the game winning TD after Campell came of his block and went ito the endzone LA was blocking 2 line men 1 with each arm

shame to see him in sanfran red, but his time here was over

:hammer:

he doesn't fit the system, and although still has something, it's not nearly enough to justify earning 7 mil

During the same game, when Glenn score the TD on the reserve. Larry Allen try blocking three guys in open space but he wiffed completely. It was sad to watch.

Larry could've reworked his bloated contract if he wanted to stay. I don't miss him, it was time for him to go.

Glad he is still playing, but it was time to move on. I notice you are not talking about the blocks he missed. Watch him during the season. Allen had to be released by the Cowboys.

I wish he would have just retired a Cowboy. As posted earlier, our sweeps, screens, and other runs to the outside were non existant when we had LA, we actually ran a great screen tonight. Progress folks, progress.

Exactly man, I don't think anyone here doesn't wish Larry hadn't retired a Cowboy, but he wanted the money, and because of his reputation, he got it. It was a good business decision for the Cowboys to let him go.
