OK I'm bored, but anyone else think this season reminds them of the movie "Any Given Sunday"? Romo is Jack "Cap" Rooney (Dennis Quaid), the wily vet trying to hang on for a championship, but gets injured. Opening the door for the precocious rook, Steamin' Willie Beamon (Jamie Foxx) = Dak, to take over the team. Rooney heals up and regains the starting job and plays well through the playoffs. Until he gets hurt again and Beamon comes in to win the championship. Can only hope.

Everything seems perfect on the surface, but behind the scenes it's probably like North Dallas Forty, a lot partying, drinking, womanizing, in fighting, jockeying for support in the locker room and owners office. Just win baby! I borrowed the phrase since Jerry is looking a lot like Al.

I don't think the winning championships role is a good one for Romo, bloke.
Seriously, Dak seems better suited to prevailing, than Romo, Mr. Just Fell Short.
Dak is the future.
Welcome ruffians of the Cowboys gridiron.

Actually, the movie that comes to my mind is Leprechaun in the Hood 2.

Does that mean Zeke is LL Cool J? I thought maybe he would be more like Nelly in The Longest Yard remake. lol

Honestly, I do see the parallels. However, I don't think Dak will ever let it go to his head like Beamen. And there aren't as many self-centered players on the team. But Garrett can give a hell of a speech.

Beamen was a jerk who got a huge ego later in the film. Let's hope Dak doesn't follow suit.
I guess you could say Romo would be "Cap", regardless if he's won championships or not.
I can see some comparisons, but not a lot.

Yeah, I don't see the Dak ---> Beamen comp as far as personalities go. In terms of the situation, in general, I can see the comparison a little.

Well, they actually don't win the championship, they get drilled in the second round of the playoffs. The last game you see if them winning is on the road in the first playoff game.

I've been saying this to myself since Tony first went out with that back injury. Similar to the injury in that movie.

But Dak doesn't have the Willie Beamen personality. Zeke is more like Steamin Willie Beamen.

Well, I'm just hoping this movie doesn't turn into "Titanic" again.....you know, Romo as Jack and Jerry as Rose. Won't look good for Jack.
