Anyone else think we need more Dak runs?

I wasn't able to watch last week's game other than what was on Red Zone (did watch week 1 though) but I can't recall ever seeing a designed QB keeper, or even pass / run option bootlegs. We have one of the most mobile QBs in the league, why aren't we doing more to utilize this? This would help receivers, especially Dez, get open as it would force them to leave a LB to spy... And it would be especially deadly in the red zone (which is like the beginning and end of our offensive issues) where CBs would have to decide on bootlegs to come get Dak or to stay on their man. So why aren't we doing this more?

Prob same reason we are struggling to get the rb's lanes to run thru.

Run some option plays... It will help both aspects. Though I do agree, we need more screen passes to neutralize their run D. Bubble screen to Beasley or Dez once a drive and they will think twice about putting so many people in the box

I agree we should be running Dak 3-5 times a game. In addition, I think we need to be running more out of formations other than obvious run formations. You can see the line getting stacked every time we are in a a two or three TE set or a pro or I set with a FB. Run from three WR sets. Run from 4 wr sets. If this OL is supposed to be great, they should be able to run against 6 in the box defenses. It's hard to run when you bring 8-9 guys within 5 yards of the LOS and in the box.

As people start to catch on to his game film, I love the idea of getting him in space or even some zone read for him and Zeke a couple of times a game. I always think it's good to have a wrinkle or two in a gameplan with a QB as athletic as him.

To save the QB?

He should not run more than 4-5 times a game and only when he has space to slide.

Like Cam hurt his ankle the first game and Garofalo with NE..

they run they get pounded.

Even Wentz got hi-lowed the other night.

I don'the want to see Sanchez.

Throw the ball away.

While I do wish Dak would run a *little* more, I'm fine with him playing as cautious as he does.

Has anyone seen Carson Wentz? Dude is wreckless, throws his body around like he's John Elway at the goaline, trying to get one last ring before he retires. Injury waiting to happen. Enjoy that CTE.

Dak plays like he intends on being in the league for 15+ years.

I want to see ad lib runs, where he drops back to pass, and then runs if it is open.
Designed runs can be read and he might get hurt or not much gained.

Yup, and definitely from a spread formation. When we have 4-5 receivers spread out, the middle of the defense looks so inviting. Drop back, nothing there, take off. The running lanes will be massive. Frankly, I think this is a great goal line strategy too. Spread everyone out and let Dak run right behind our surging offensive line. There is virtually no second line of defense to stop it when you spread the defense out like that.

Not a fan of using him in the option, because then you're giving them free reign to clock him. Just want to roll him out more often let deep stuff open up. Not only does it slow the pass rush it opens up the running Lanes

Dak has been fine with his instincts so far, no need to force it. Playoffs, maybe a few wrinkles, but its a marathon right now.

Would love to see the team design more plays utilizing Dak's mobility. Once we're using Dak's legs, and teams have to account for his mobility, AND we're winning then that will become our identity. Once that becomes our identity, then Romo won't get the job back once he's healthy. As long as Dak stays primarily a pocket passer, then Romo gets his job back since Romo can do that also at an elite level. But the team will not change their identity just to give Romo his job back. So, I'm hoping we'll create more plays utilizing Dak's legs to the point were opposing teams have to game plan for it. And once that happens, AND we're winning doing it, then that will be our identity, then Romo will have a permanent seat on the bench.

He plays like Romo.

In all seriousness, I would like to see more aggression to run when plays are not there, but you are right, to a degree.

He is doing fine, but a little extra would not hurt.

If you have a QB that can run for two-three first downs a game, it can be huge for the offense and steal yardage back that is left on the field to take.

Nothing more demoralizing than a QB running when the rush and coverage both do their jobs but they still move the chains by taking the open field yards.

That is one thing that has disappeared from Romo's game with the injuries. He could be sitting with a wide open field where he could run for a lot of yards but instead and pulls back at the line of scrimmage to throw.

Right now, Prescott has only ran three times, but two were first downs.
