There's a moron giant fan arguing with me on another forum saying that Ware was offsides cuz he moved before the snap.

If that's the case, anytime a freakin' safety moves forward before the snap of the ball he's offsides, doesn't matter if he actually crossed the LOS or not, he moved so he's offsides.

Anyone have a video of that play?

I know it's not going to be of much help, but I did see a .gif posted somewhere, and it's very clear he wasn't offsides.

So if you do get ahold of the .gif, you'll win the argument. That is, after you get him to understand what the rule actually is.

Let them have their "moment". They will be brought down to Earth this Sunday.

Also, you are right...he was not offsides. I confirmed this with my DVR...and the pass should have not been called grounding...and the bogus call on Leonard Davis...and the phanton face-mask penalty...

OUCH :bang2:

Thanks, hopefully someone will post the gif.

That moron giants fan says that Ware crossed the plain before the snap, which is BS. I think he knows the rule, he just thinks (wants to think) that Ware really did cross the plain of the LOS before the snap.

Which facemask penality?

And, no, Ware was not offsides! He moved just as the ball was snapped. It's not his fault that he is fast...faster then the eyes of the refs!!

That drive itself was BS...

The off-sides on 3rd, as well as the intentional grounding by Eli... then the fluke TD run by Mr. Mediocre Toomer...

The one called on Reeves...he grabbed his helmet but not his face mask. This was right before the half...

Rack, I watched it in slo-mo high-def on my TIVO last night.

He's in a 3-point stance and just before the snap he lifts his hand off the ground and begins to push forward. Then, as the ball is moving, he is moving in concert across the LOS. It's really tough to tell if he's offsides before the snap, though because you never get a perfectly straight on angle.

The one thing that is clear, though, is that he's originally lined up just on his side of the neutral zone and he does start moving forward, ever so slightly, before the snap, so you can see why he was flagged even if it might not have technically been offsides.

It was a judgement call... certainly not the most flagrant of the night, but a killer nonetheless.

I was much more peeved at the Davis roughing call and the coincidental non-calls when Strahan roughed up Romo twice after he threw the ball.

By the way, that DEFINITELY was a facemask by Reeves.

Barely, but he did grab that outside of the facemask and spun Smith's head around.

Come on, guys...the fact that the Gints scored a TD with 47 FREAKIN' seconds was VERY frustrating.:bang2:

Ya a five yard facemask at best :bang2:

You're probably right...I don't think Sheli could've pulled that off.

A stupid question,

Can a coach challenge an offsides penalty flag?

That penalty led to a Giants TD. It was huge.

Just wondering.

With the rate they got them wrong on Demarcus this year, they definitely should make it so you can challenge it.

I was thinking that Wade should have thrown out the red challenge flag, if it was permitted.

It was obvious (to me, at least) that he wasn't offsides.

I think even Aikman mentioned that he didn't look offsides during the broadcast.

I think even Joe Buck admitted he wasn't "going forward as much as he was going up." It's so obvious he wasn't offsides. I think I've seen him flagged for it (unwarranted) 4 times in his career. Once in his first year agains the Raiders and on 3 separate occasions this year. Just sucks that one of them took place in the playoffs.

Offsides aren't challengable.
