Phillips - 2/20/2007: Signed a six-year, $31 million contract.
Tucker - 8/25/2008: Signed a five-year, $14.65 million contract.

Hardly "BIG money" IMO.

Oh and guess what. Merriman is younger than Phillips and about the same age as Tucker (25). Both Phillips and Tucker's stats don't even compare to Merriman's.

IF Merriman comes back and plays "lights out" they'd be crazy to let him go.

Umm that's pretty big money. You just drafted ANOTHER OLB in the first round also. Merriman is as good as gone no matter how good he plays. He isn't welcomed back to San Diego.

the saints linebackers of the late 80's and early 90's as a group were very formidalble but they didnnt have a ware. also the 80's giants but they only had one Lt type player.

 First time I've heard this...
this the 1st year you've been following the draft? one of the reasons McNeil slid to the 2nd round was because he has back issues

Disagree. Phillips is getting "respectable" money.. not "big." Especially once you factor in inflation after every year. LoL Hell Canty got paid more.

Besides no one knows how good English will be.

What does that have to do with anything? We can't draft lineman for crap so I hope your arn't insuating that we draft a LT in the first round. We are drafting Terrence Cody. Sorry.

I recall that too. He also had a down year IIRC in one of his seasons.

all I'm saying is I hope we don't give a guy whose back can give out any year, a 6-year contract

Merriman is gone. They had multiple ways they could have gone in the draft since they are pretty loaded at OLB. Drafting English reaks of Merriman getting shown the door.

McNeill is one of the best LT's in the game. He's missed 2 games in his 3 year career and been to 2 probowls as a starter already. Not any of this "Flozell name recognition" crap. Dude is a stud and only 26 I believe.

like we were drafting Ron Brace?:lmao2:

Never said we were. I said I wanted him. Speaking of Brace we are also getting Vince Wilfork next year since Brace will force him out of New England.

2010 moves
Signing Vince Wilfork
Signing Marcus McNeill
Drafting Dez Bryant

Superbowl Champs.
