Crayton comments about Williams coming was positive and I think Crayton has shown in the past that he is a better slot WR. Having Owens and Williams on the outside with Crayton in the slot I think will benifet everyone

The way it was going around here, every offensive player should cheer Roy coming. Marion will have less 8 man fronts, Crayton has his contract and will be a better fit back in the slot and TO will get more man coverage. I would not understand any player complaining.

Myself I like Crayton now if you want to call him a #2 or a #3 makes no differance to me what I expect from all our players is to make plays when the ball comes your way. Crayton for the most part has done that. I clearly do not see him as a Pro Bowl WR as I do Owens and Williams but Crayton has been a good player for us thus far and I expect him to continue making plays when we go to him.

Could you point them out to me? Most everyone I have read says he is a receiver that has done everything asked of the organization. He played great as a three and servicable as a two. Not sure I read any saying he is a legit threat each week as a number 2 receiver. Oh.. or were you exagerating to make a point?

Agreed. I think this takes pressure off of Crayton. It means he'll be lined up against #3 CBs or a LB/S more than likely. Those are matchups he can better exploit IMO

He's probably ecstatic because they didn't include in the deal and ship him to the always-rebuilding Detroit!

I am a Crayton fan. Always have been, always will be, and I will not ever appologize for that fact. I thought he was a good #2 but I was never opposed to the idea of getting someone like RW to be an upgrade at the #2 spot and allow Crayton to play the slot #3 spot where he's even better.

I don't think this move means, at all, that Crayton sucks or hasn't done everything this organization has asked of him. It just means they had a chance to get a better #2 option and took it. That's football.

Besides what more can Crayton really be expected to do? The guy was like a 7th round draft choice, out of a small school, and converted from QB to WR. I'd say given all this that he's been an outstanding player for us in that regard.

Crayton should view this as a huge plus. He got his contract, the chances that we make it to the Superbowl have gone up, he will be facing the 3rd/4th CB and he has the possibility to move back to #2 in a couple years because honestly, how many years does Owens have left? There is no downside to this move at all.

The only WR that could be unhappy with the trade is Miles Austin.

Miles should be the happiest one of all because initially he was included in the trade, but Jerry changed his mind at the last minute and shipped a 3rd rounder to Detroit instead. Instead of a 1st, 3rd and 6th, it would have been a 1st, Austin and 6th. Not being a part of the Lions roster is reason enough for Austin to celebrate.

I'm sure the injury to Felix influenced Jerry's decision. Without Austin, we wouldn't have a proven kick returner right now.

You really, really believe he would say anything else?
(The naivette committee meets at 3 p.m. with balloons and party favors for everyone.)

Of course he was positive. Did you expect him to pout? To say "It's either him or me!?

And, of course having Owens and Williams together will be beneficial, but with the emergence of Austin, Crayton has no reason to believe his prospects have brightened. If it were not for the money Jerra lavished upon him midseason last year, Crayton would be truly apprehensive about his job.

I don't know how he really feels guess what neither do you. We can both sit here and put words in his mouth and act like we know how he feels or accept the fact of what Crayton said. In the end all I care about is Crayton doing the job that is asked of him if he does that then that is all that matters.
